Hi,
Have anyone ever cleaned windshield with the steel wool? And what was the result? What is the best way of cleaning water stains off from the glass? Thank you very much.

I fit new windscreens after 80-100K miles.

You only have to compare the old screen with the new to realise how worn they get.

You notice the difference even more if you look carefully at the old screen in bright sunlight - there are thousands of tiny light refracting marks.

Every now and then one discovers something which can be classified as "a great tip".

This was one of them.

I did the Touareg's windscreen this past weekend, using the video as by tutor.
In stead of Rain X, I used Wynn's C-Thru

I was a bit wary of using steel wool on the glass, but it turned out 100%.
Even before the C-Thru was applied, the glass was so much smoother than previously.

The C-Thru applied easily, buffed up to a smooth shine and the results are amazing.

I think the C-Thru on the wiper blades is important.

Previously the (very long beam type) wipers tended to judder, especially when there was only light rain falling. Now it is as smooth as anything.

Next weekend I will do the other windows.

I use WHINK rust remover. Use rob gloves. A piece of clothe. Wipe on make window wet keep doing about 30 secs. And after clean with anything you normaly do windows. I did test on rubber and paint and safe to use. I did have lots of waterspots on paint and worked great. All windows in 30 mins.
