Yeah, I never pay much attention to the tire area when I shop there. I did try to get gas there but no diesel at mine.

I think my choice is Continental DWS. Sorry, Nick. Given all the variables, it noses out the Michelin Latitudes.

Need to hit the hay...will likely change mind tomorrow after I visit Costco! :)

That's typical. I'm not sure I've ever seen a Costco with Diesel. Their prices are almost always cheaper on gas, but I've found Chevron returns better MPG, and that's a fact!

I have Latitudes which have been pretty good so far. I have 7k miles on my factory set with very little wear. The way I drive (aggressive) I'll probably get 30k out of them which is not bad, however when these wear out I'll be getting a set of dedicated winters.

Another Latitude vote. Interesting your T3 came with them. 30k when driving aggressive...that's optimistic.

LOL, no worries, you arrived at the same conclusion I did for the exact same reasons I had when I bought the DWS. I just wasn't happy with the way Conti dealt with my issues, but maybe I just got a bad batch/bad rep/etc.

If they stay round you will love them. They are a great tire and I loved them until they got all funky on wear.

Well, I'm not 100% sold on them. I have a cousin in Alabama who posts on here a little bit. When I did a search here last night I found a post of his from last year where he had just put them on. He said they were great. Will contact him.

My cousin said he just got another set of the Conti DWS. He's no tire expert and neither am I but the fact he got another set says something. Also went to another local tire shop...pushed the Pirelli Scorpion Verde, saying it is all-season touring. The DWS is more performance, similar to the GYs.

I picked the DWS for the 2004 in FL based on it's reviews, however they weren't spoken highly of in the winter so I would have never put them on up here in the Northeast.
Alabama would have been fine.
Aesthetically I wouldn't buy them again, nor would I purchase in a Nothern latitude.

I've had 2 sets of Nokian on the 2004, 1 set on my past BMW X5, and put a set on my sister's BMW X5, great performance each time.
I've blown them out and max had to wait 1-2 days if they weren't in stock around here (not an issue for me).
One of the largest net dealers tiresbyweb is in MI and usually can get tires out right away. I've bought directly from them and also special ordered through my local tire shop.
They are the best year round performance choice that I have familiarity with.

catalastgod - When I was talking about the look of the tires I was talking about how they look on the Touareg from a aesthetic point of view looking at the side and how they fit the vehicle's line, not the tread pattern.
I don't like the way the Conti DWS looked on my 2004 and along those lines don't think whatever Dunlops my brother has look good on his T2 either.

Good info. From my limited knowledge, the Nokian and Conti DWS have similar tread pattern for snow. Then again, I've been fine with the Goodyears in the snow and that is supposed to be an all-season performance tire. I'm not off-roading, either.

Your comments about the look on the Touareg are interesting. Going to see if I can find something on Google Images.

Got the Conti DWS tires installed. So far so good. I think the look is fine...looks very similar to the Goodyears. The tread pattern is different but the overall look to me looks great on the T3.

Driven about 130 miles. We had heavy rains the previous two days and flurries this morning. Ride is quiet...but, of course, these are brand new. Need to pile on the miles to give a definitive review.

Well, on the 422 Ecopia, I have not noticed a difference in MPG or grip in DD conditions. Still averaging anywhere between 17 and 19. I have a long trip to Wilmington, NC and NoVA scheduled for the coming weekends of the 27th and the 11th. Will report back after that. I can make still lose traction on the V10 if I go crazy with the accelerator pedal from a stop. So far, nothing noteworthy in comparison with the old Yokohamas except for the ride noise. But that could just be the new tires.

In the meantime, just had my diesel filter and oil changed at the same time as the tires. So, all readings and measurements should be comparable to my experience with the Yokohama tires.

Looking, at good year dura track, and MT baha atz. I was looking at nitto's but for what they are worth and the aggressiveness of them I don't like them. I know there's a bunch of threads on here, I think 31 or 32's is the most I can go. I got a vr6 t2. Just wondering if it will affect my computer and speedometer. Also random but I was told by 1 person it affects my differential ratio and transfer case. Let me ok know what you think. I strongly disagree with him but hey give me your opinion. Also thats with the 31's. thanks cheers

31.5 inches is the maximum OD you'll squeeze into the wheelarches.
