It resets after you replace the sensor when installing new brake pads.
.

Simple trick .... the sensor is simply a wire loop which gets broken by the contact with the disc ( rotor), make up a dummy plug with a simple loop. Will effectively negate your wear sensors so you will now be able to destroy your rotors completely...but!!, Hey, who cares? You must have plenty of money....LOL

Thanks, the rotors are warped any way lol

I doubt it. It is very hard to warp a rotor even under high speed road use.

People often think they have warped rotors when the problem lies with the pads or calipers.

But it sounds like you will be changing both anyway!

I got 20k more (and counting) on mine after the sensor went off - though I do almost all highway driving and I am not one to stand on the brakes.

And I won't be the least bit displeased if I ruin a rotor or 4. I will be replacing them anyway. However, I would be displeased with myself for letting that happen as it would mean that safety was compromised. Pushing it is one thing, pushing it too far is another.

One work of caution to the OP - take it upon yourself to know how much you have left and keep an eye on it. You risk a lot if you don't. Inspection will tell you a lot more than feel IMHO. And you don't get the luxury of a do-over if you miss something.
