Okay Guys, So I'm in the market for new tires for my 07 Touareg. I have a 3.6 V-6 and am looking for a set of 275 45 r19 xl

Been looking at Bridgestones & Michelins (Pricey)... Need some recommendations. Don't want to have to replace after 20,000 miles.

Also still need some sites that I can order Zimmerman rotors and pagid brakes.

Any Suggestions?

Thank you kindly,
Hylander

My local Firestone shop sells Dueler HP Sport tires in 275-45/19 at a good price and they have a decent rating from tirerack too.

Since you're in the market for new tires, you may want to consider changing to 255/50/19 instead of the standard 275/45/19. It's the best thing I ever did changing to this size for these reasons:
1. Better handling on the road
2. A LOT less tramlining (wondering) on the road. You probably felt your treg drifting or wondering whenever it encountered longitudinal grooves or imperfections in the road. This is common with wider low profile tires which are a lot more prominent with the 275/45s. With 255/50s you hardly feel this effect.
3. 255/50s are less expensive than the 275/45s.

There is more documented about this on this forum if you do a search. Also the diameter / circumference between these tires sizes are very close so speedo error is insignificant.

Hey rigasr, thanks for the tip. What brand of 255/50/19, do you recommend?

I liked my Parada spec X a lot...I remember you telling me early on that they were loud on concrete slab (we don't have any in Ontario).

DWS is sweet, looks great too...I can't remember any exceptional noise on Montreal's concrete slab, but then again I think I told you the same about the Yokohamas :)

Yes, very quiet on black asphalt but a split personality on concrete. It almost made no sense at all. Contrary, my Yoko Geolander winter tires that I have on now, are quieter on the concrete than their summer Parada X cousins that I took off a couple of weeks ago.

I have the Yokohama Avid ENVigor and they have been wearing and ageing well. Although, I would like to try a different tire next time. I was thinking of the Dunlop SP Sport for my next tire. These are both prosumer tires as they balance out all the characteristics in the thread title. Here is the Tirerack Test on them:

^^^^I agree the Dunlops have favour able reviews ^^^

However, the DWS do sound quite tasty as well in the other performance category of that website that you provided: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/testDisplay.jsp?ttid=147

Bridgestone

Dueler HP Sports. They were incredible on my 07 V6. Good looking and long lasting.

Hey bud, I'm leaning toward these Bridgestone's but they take some hard hits from reviews especially during wet road conditions. Your thoughts???

The rating on those tires is really old and if that is the price range you are looking at, I would go with the DWS as the NickM suggested. They are much better, newer and same cost as the Duelers.

However, if you want to stick with a retailer like Costco, I can understand your choice of a Bridgestone/Michelin/BF Goodrich.

Yes. 19" on Bridgestone DHPsports. They are solid. I have driven them I-70 from grand junction to denver in the rain and on dry pavement. They work. and they are rated to 180+ mph ( not that you would really need that) DO NOT USE IN SNOW.
