I was reluctant to blab about the solution because I got the problem fixed through "goodwill" on VWoA's part. But I guess I'll blab anyway.
You need a new Module 56, and new SVM coding. The SVM part can only be done by a dealer; VAGCOM can't do it. Actually you can skip the SVM part and the system including HD Radio will work, but the audio EQ (equalization) will be crazy-out-of-whack, and the new module will throw several "03175 invalid data set" faults.
