Sulphur odour you mean? Never experienced it in mine. It's been wet lately and humid as you would have noticed, so if the BOM is on with the revised forecast this next week as being dryish, let it air outside maybe to vent the pong?

Rotten egg gas, sulphur dioxide is very distinctive and rank. Wet floors in Tregs (or most things) are also a bit hard to take but not nearly as bad IMHO. Bit of sun and air circulation soon disposes of it. Normally wet from shoes or brollies but sometimes from A/C condensate sitting in the system instead of draining out fully. John

I get that in the Crafter a lot. Cure is to turn the heater on max temp and full blast for a 1 min and that helps circulate the bad air.

Rotten egg smell is often a tell tale of a catylitic converter starting to fail. But that would be outside the vehicle if it is shut up. Rotten eggs is sulphur dioxide which when mixed with water forms sulphuric acid (Acid rain is this). Carpets usually smell like wet dog or stagnant pond.

But but but but .. I have had dozens of carpeted four wheeled conveyances, some had a pretty rough life.. but they never smelt like this damp eg.

Must be something peculiar to mine.. guess there has to be something about it not to like...

check your pollenfilter. It might be wet from clogged drains and that stinks
Good point, the filters are activated carbon filters which will have a small amount of sulphur in them, as essentially it is charcoal in the filter which adsorbs (Chemically reacts and changes, as opposed to absorbs which just holds) PAH's(Poly Aromatic Hydrocarbons (exhaust fumes)) from the air. It is never supposed to get wet, so that could be a source.

have to ask....

OK....so what the heck is a Brollie??

My guess>>? perhaps a small furry animal that smells when wet??

tgh05: are any of your carpets damp or wet?

Is the spare wheel well wet?

Is the upper rear roof lining near the tail gate damp?

I had a V10 Phaeton which had the same problem, very damp and wet floorcarpet, which turned out to be caused by constipated or clogged drains of the rain and carwashwater, underneith the front shield. The water found it 's way through the heating system and caused wet carpet..

It finally took 2 weeks to clean , dry, and replace not only the carpet, but also the printplates that were placed under the floor.

Regards, Bergstede
