Boy, is this a great feature or what? Had to run a lot of errands with the wife this very cold weekend (mid teens here on the east coast of the US) and having the Treg be warm when you get back in is just great!

REST + Heated Steering Wheel + Air Suspension are the three favourite features on my Touareg.

REST is by far one of the truly great features of the Touareg in cold weather.

Yeah well that is one feature where that does not apply. Was not worth them making a pod with out a button and just made them all with it.
Simple really, you hit the button after you turn the car off and it will run the fans at a low speed to keep the car warm as long as heat from the motor is still there. I think you get about a half hour out of it.

It's great bird hunting. I use it all the time. I can hunt a covert and return to a warm car.

The car will shut it down if it detects the beginning of too much drain on your battery.

Not working too well in my area at this time with temperatures at 45°C (110°F).
But at least my seats stay warm all day (and night). :sad:

I'll drink to that. Our version should have no REST feature and a DISP feature in its place would work well here. DISPense beer!

Have actually used this feature here lately - useful when you pull up and the other half dashes in to the shop or whatever to keep the air moving. Have used it parked in the shade for 10 minutes and it worked well for air movement, alas no cooling though!! 
Temp in the 30's at the mo here in Adelaide. Never used it for heating - just go outside.
