Anyone installed one of these in a 2004 Treg with a Delta radio?
Thx

No - I have iGO8 - working well - though I don't use it that much. Small town. Amazing detail though.Same here. Removing it from the 12v made it more stable. It is still freezing up with tomtom after 5 min or so. Anybody else got the same issue?
Do you have the OEM back up camera installed, or an aftermarket unit?hI.
I'm a 1st time user of the Maisun unit with iGO8 GPS software and rear view camera installed...Having sorted initial teething problems, it has not missed a beat and I do enjoy the unit.It could be a little more user friendly when navigating your way through the sources/functions e.g: the long pause while waiting for it to read the DVD upon returning from e.g. the Bluetooth page etc.I'm used to the Garmin Nav units and what is a bonus on this GPS is how it "guides" your spelling of address input (that makes the typing bit faster) by highlighting only those letters common to the options...The GPS menus can be a bit tricky having to find your way around it.If only there was a way the bluetooth could connect my cellphone upon recognition instead of having to connect everytime you switch on the ignition/unit.The radio does not seem to store/program radio stations (for quicker reference) - Not too keen on the 'choose-from-the-list' approach. All in All I'm satisfied with the value you get for your money (maby even a tad bit more) and hope that at the very least it will remain reliable...
It doesn't compare to aftermarket (ie: kenwood, Pioneer, Alpine), nor does it compare to the RNS 510 (except it looks the same). By comparison the interface is sloppy, it is unreliable, audio quality is poor, ease of use is poor, support is non-existent, you have to spend a few days learning how to hack a copy of navigation software to make it work, and the bluetooth sounds like you're in a wind tunnel, My Kenwood backup cam never worked with it.tTo any of you that are using this Maisun unit: Does this compare to other aftermarket systems you've used? And for that matter, how does this compare to the OEM 510? Thanks!
As Teatherwind mentioned it won't work. I tried it on my '04...no sound at all. You need to rewire and put in a DVD nav amp ("V10" did the amp swap a few years ago) or rerun all wiring and run an aftermarket amp.I have an 04 with the top of the line CD Nav with amp. The kind where the power is turned on via bus rather than line inputs. Will the Maisun replica, this one,:

fit? I know the dash display and steering wheel controls will not work for sure (i don't care about those functions) but is this plug and play with the amplifier or will I have the bypasss amp and find crossovers? I have looked through all 60 or so pages of this posting and cannot find a definitive answer.
I did not try it. But It looks like you need to ground the Antenna Amplifier R24 or R11's or both. I did not want to screw with it so I lived with the so so reception. The amplifiers look to be installed in the rear head liner.Does anyone know how can I improve radio signal on my Maisun head unit? It is really poor.![]()
The RNS 510 certainly does since I have it on my 2010.I did not see this covered yet... but on the 2010 Touareg would any of these radio's support the Sirius satellite radio option?
You need a twin fakra lead. I have same unit with lead - perfect.Does anyone know how can I improve radio signal on my Maisun head unit? It is really poor.![]()
Can you show me how that is possible? See attached document for the Touareg Antenna's.You need a twin fakra lead. I have same unit with lead - perfect.
When I got my Maisun unit from the eBay seller, it was disclosed o that a twin fakra lead would offer clear reception, so I got the lead and connected. Works perfect. Can you show me how that is possible? See attached document for the Touareg Antenna's.
