Unfortunately the 2020/21 model R line with air suspension has an additional battery and sub woofer in the tyre area and the full sized spare even deflated will not fit.
285/40r21 has 760m diameter, & 285mm height fully inflated.

I had a brief look and I'm pretty sure it can be done. However the floor would be a custom. The floor would sit 50mm higher and the edges boxed for support. The battery support bracket also needs a shorter custom replacement with floor level straps to existing fixing points, with the 48v battery turned 90 deg. Maybe subwooffer likewise rebracketed up and back, if the spare deflation gain is insufficient. As for covering the floor auto/marine carpet or for mud dust & sand, a 2mm cargo lining. All original equipment can be kept intact as this is reversible for around town or an eventual resale.

If you don't stray too far from the Caravan just tac a spare wheel bracket to the yoke or rear bumper lights permitting. Existing spare ok to 80kph.

I saw a Cayenne wheels on their Gallery [you'll have to update it with your fit ;) ] I didn't see those working in the bush without buckling. Those 20" with your less open mesh pattern will be a vast improvement.

I do like a Candy Pearl Gummetal Black but I'm not a big fan of jet black wheels and there's a hint of Pearl in yours so a full sun photo will help pop the look. The Coopers are a great choice. There'll be little hurry to swap back when you're on the tar full-time. Looking forward to an update after 5thou use.
Update. Just finished 3400 klms with new tyres and rims. Love and new discover tyres, not noisy and handled well. Pulled up really well when a horse decided to cross the road in front of us.

Hi Folks, i have a set of brand new, unused, never used 18", still in the box Niche Rims. 850kg rating for sale that fits the Touareg CR @27 offset. it fits over the break calliper. unfortunate for me to sell them.

$1400+freight x5 rims (1 spare). you will have more tyre options to head off the beaten track.

Just finished the modification to stand up my full sized spare. Original Space saver spare and tools removed. Base board fashioned to fit and packed up to sit flat. Secured using original tie down centre bolt. Manufactured my own top board using original as template. I did use the locking slide from the original to lock the sides in. Tyre held in by ratchet strap and side supports . All covered with black flexible carpet type material from Bunnings. Next job to install battery pack,240 volt charger, BCDC charger, inverter and run 2 Anderson plugs to the rear. One to charge batteries in van and the other as solar input.

Will these fit a 2015 TDI 3.0 litre? I'm currently looking for some 17" or 18" for it.

With the exception of the R5 which used some VW Transporter parts and runs on 5x120 PCD wheels, all Generation 1 (T1 and T2) and all Generation 2 (T3 and T4) Touaregs run on 5x130 PCD wheels whilst the Generation 3 (T5) is mounted on 5x112 PCD wheels.

Where did you get the towing eye piece? (the piece where the 50mm ball is attached to)
I am looking for that 1"drop. All I can find here in Canada is a 2" drop, 3" drop, etc...
It looks like it is a cast piece not stamped out like the crap they have here!

Yes it is a cast fitting that came with the tow bar when it was installed

On the tongue is the following information. Westfalla Automotive GmbH. Part no 760.092.135.A. VW touareg 2019 on. Hopes that this helps. This is probably the part no for the whole towbar not just the tongue. Regards Garry
Cheers. I will have a look at this further. Thank you for the info

Hello !!!
I hope all is well for everyone :)
I was driving by an audi Q8 and my eye got the tires installed. Tires were Michelins LatitudeCross 285/45/21. I am thinking hmmm this is almost same car like my V8 touareg so why wears an inch taller tires???
Then i check wheel-size and i realize that audi q8 wears 31 tall tires in comparison with your CR tregs that wear 30 inch tires. Dimensions like 265/55/19 and 285/40/22. I checked also the rsQ8 and wears 295/40/22.

So I am wondering what if ? what if the 31 inch tall tires naturally fit our Touaregs? Does anyone had similar thoughts or trial?

Many thanks.

Sorry, haven't been on the forums for a couple of months and missed this one. I traded in the originally fitted Goodyear road tyres for a set of Copper ATTs 255/55 R19 (111H XL) the day I picked the new CR up. Excellent tyres... these are a new design from Cooper (they are ATT, not AT), an all-terrain tyre which to date have been very good off-road and on-road (20,000km so far). Went down to Tassie in March and we did 8,000 kms on that trip... with a little off-roading, nothing too demanding but a 4 hour gravel track to Sandy Cape with sharp rocks (all ok), sand driving all ok, various gravel roads all ok... and on-road they are as quiet as the standard tyres and a very comfortable tyre whilst driving. My first Coopers and so far, highly recommended. View attachment 244530
