I need to get a bit more sidewall than the 20" wheels I currently have. A cattle grid on a dirt road has already wrecked one sidewall, so I would like to go to a higher profile tyre.
Does anyone know of any aftermarket wheel manufacturers that make a 17" or 18" wheel suitable for the Gen2 7P Touareg?
Thanks all!

My advise is to go with OEM VW wheels.
Some of the aftermarket wheels look good on the Touareg, but one of the things that always bothered me is the offset for aftermarket wheels is usually 10mm or more less. For example my 19's are ET 59, aftermarket are ET43-at most 50.
As already stated above, at least you know the VW wheels are load rated for the Touareg.

I'm sure you used the search function and came up with nothing....
PSA - OEM wheel options for anyone interested
Please note the bold and enlarged wording I quoted from the OP's first post.
Your guide is comprehensive but not what they would have been searching for.

Your running at least 45 psi..? In the land of bumps 32 it's a taco rim invitation.

The have a ride leveler kit for about 2inches on ebay.. those give room for larger tires but that's it's own issue.. imho
You can get larger profile tires, I've even seen larger light truck mud tires with the leveling kit.

But tire pressure on 40 and 45 series needs to be at 45 to not damage in states with potholes and aperently cattle guards.

I went with 20x9 Porsche knock off at 60mim offset for 400 off clist.. the 330mm brakes a big boy. 275 40 20 drag spec performance tires and new tpsm's but that's a post in tires and wheels lol

This is so annoying, anytime someone asks a question the gate keepers proclaim, have you used the search function?
What's the fun in that honestly.

If you can't get new users and new content it's just poor planning.
Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, it's a perennial problem on most forums. No, it's really not welcoming.

Thanks to all that replied, I appreciate all the comments and help!

*The bottom line seems to be that very few AFTERMARKET suppliers make 17" wheels for a Touareg.
Some possible options:
There are others

Of course OEM wheels are an option, thanks for the suggestion. However in my part of the world a full set from VW starts at AU$2200 per wheel.

VW sells off end-of-run wheels to third parties who can sell them cheap on ebay - when I bought my Touareg in 2015 I bought a set of 4 VW Tangis 17" wheels for winter tyres, cost was ÂŁ400 UKP for the set - so keep searching, you may get lucky.

That is expensive… on my 2004 V6, 17” standard wheels, I bought a complete OEM set from an aftermarket vendor selling them, for $400 USD, about five years ago or so… my original set had degraded over time due to brake dust… of course, that deal is long gone… but I’d bet there are deals to be found, still. They used these wheels worldwide… Good Luck!
