Bought a Hex-V2. Downloaded everything and I ran the test and it states Interface found...Type Ross-Tech Hex-USB.....Status: Not plugged into car.
But when I plug it into my car, it states Interface Not found....
I'm just trying to get this test passed so I can register the darn thing...
It's like it won't register the cord...it shows it on Bluetooth and Other Devices but not in Device manager..
I attached pics...anyone know step by step to help me get this up and registered? Running Windows 10.

No way is it legit. Its a clone and will not work with the current software you download from Ross-Tech. Did you get clone software supplied with it with instructions not to connject online and update ?
Yes, I got the small cd that came with it. I had to download it to a USB due to not having a cd reader on my laptop. No, it didn't state not to use the website, quite the opposite. It stated to go to the Ross-Tech website if I had any issues with the download...

You can try running it with the orginally supplied software but it may not now work as the later genuine software may stuff the clones firmware. If it works is probably will not identify all the problems if the clone software is earlier than your car. I suggest you cut your losses and buy the genuine article direct from Ross-Tech

Will do...

Ya you can't use genuine software with those clone dongles. I've had my clone for 6 years now. You must use the software they supply. If you can't use the mini discs, email the seller for a download link. Again, you CAN NOT use genuine rosstech software. You can not update the software either (unless you get a specific clone dongle with a specific chipset that is flashable to "legit" status, which takes some work and isn't for the computer illiterate).

Uninstall everything you just installed, reboot, then install the supplied software. It'll have a softloader that you launch VCDS from.

Ross-Tech does not sell cables through mass market stores like Amazon or AliExpress- it's only authentic if purchased directly from them, or one of the few small enthusiast VW parts companies that distribute for them like IDParts.

It's one thing when companies are selling those generic blue cables that only work with old versions of VCDS/vag-com, but this is really egregious based on your photo- you've been scammed by a seller that is an outright fraud. With the sticker and molded case they are fraudulently claiming it to be a Ross-Tech product when it absolutely isn't one, and at $100 they are charging almost as much as the real thing, and 5-10x what a knock-off cable is worth.

Please submit a counterfeit claim through aliexpress- it is illegal for them to be selling counterfeit merchandise, and you should get a full refund. For what you paid, you can get an authentic used unit with 1-2 remaining vin numbers.

That looks to be a pirated fake vcds. You need a real vcds.
