My T has a bit of a story to it. It’s a 2016 stop-sale, it was never sold until 5/2019. So the warranty ticker Began in May of 2019, so the powertrain and dieselgate warranties go to 5/2029 and 100K/120K miles.

Currently at 65K miles so 35K since I scooped it January 2022. Lifetime average per fuelly is 25.6 mpg and I haven’t had a single problem. Love this machine

def a unicorn, but I will say that the effects of it sitting unused and unloved in a lot in the northern Midwest for 3 years has begun to show itself. Small bits of the car just fall off.

it’s not perfect, and my dogs have ruined the interior. But it’s my favorite car I’ve ever owned and i will drive it until the engine loses compression. I’m extremely tempted to buy that Exec VR6 with 178K on it for $6K. Make that the overlanding beater.

Yep I believe it. Sitting a car is far, far worse than just driving it. Terrible for them.

I happen to KNOW that my dieselgate and powertrain warranties ARE, in FACT, good to May 2029 and 100K miles for the PT and 120K for the dieselgate.

or do you work for VW and you have my VIN and you’ve looked it up in VW’s system yourself??? So you’re so sure that you are right, and I am wrong?

I love how you deleted the part where I stated the vehicle was a STOP SALE. It was never sold to the public until May of 2019. Warranty begins at time of first sale to the customer. Not PDI. Not delivery to port. Not date of manufacture.

so unless you know something about my car that I don’t, which is impossible because you do not have that type of privileged access, you are incorrect buddy boy.

the point of moderators is to hold hostile and vitriolic community members accountable, I.e. banning them.

I have never enjoyed a single interaction with SavageSoot. In fact, just seeing the way he talks to ~other people~ infuriates me, he is so downright incapable of decent conversation. Everything he says is pedantic with a ****-eating and self-aggrandizing grin.

if you guys say I’m the one spreading vitriol here, then fine. You guys are just failing to see that this guy pushes peoples’ buttons to the point where we get like this.

I got my Touareg in January 2022. I’ve been on this forum since fall 2021. In that time I have observed countless instances of SavageSoot’s community-destroying antics. He treats everyone like an idiot while scratching his own back and acting like he’s a god. Such a troll.

I would like to apologize for my poor English as I'm only a stupid immigrant, so it's not my native tongue.... I can never figure out when it's appropriate to use "and" vs "or". :unsure:

But you're right... I hope to maybe get unbanned by May 2029 so that I can come back to post "I told you so".

you guys can’t read apparently.

May 2029 is 10 years from the in-service of May 2019. I bought the car used with 30K miles in January of 2022.

I stated that my warranty is good to May 2029, the TIME allotment of the warranty, “and 100K miles for the PT” means 100K miles for the powertrain and “and 120K for the dieselgate” means 120K for the emissions warranty. Both warranties are 10 years. I fully and entirely understand that it is 10 years OR 100K miles, that’s like inherent to English. Of course if I pass 100K miles in under 10 years then my warranty has concluded. It only goes to 100K miles.

Nothing I said was inconsistent or false

This is 100% uncalled for. I'm the mod. I do my job every day. I read the threads. I keep a close eye on what's going on. Just because I'm not commenting doesn't mean I'm not watching. Think of me as Santa...

@SaVAGeSoot is extremely knowledgable, yes sometimes he's rough around the edges. But the knowledge and help that he offers people out weights that.

If you have an issue with a member theres a report button for a reason. It's my job to determine if that report is valid or not. Did you report his comment? No. So you should NEVER be publicly calling out a mod. Being a Mod isn't your job.

You don't think this is a bit of an over reaction for his comment? Who is the aggressor in this thread? It's you. Not him. @SaVAGeSoot Contributes daily to peoples threads about fixing their car. What have I seen from you? It's either something about your warranty, Leaky sunroof, Or you commenting on other peoples for sale threads about how much you paid for your car in the heart of 2020...

We have a real "The pot calling the Kettle Black situation"
