Hello,

anybody interested in a day at Stockton beach with optional camping?

We discussed this trip when we met to review the Simpson trip route (Neil, Singh, Sascha) two weeks ago.

Some recovery training in sand could be done as well, with the Simpson trip in mind.

Suggestion: to meet at the Lavis Lane entry (car park) at 10am.
From there we can drive to the ship wreck and back through the dunes to Anna Bay. Lunch break and recovery exercise included.
We can easily spend 6 hours on the beach.

Any takers?

Note: a permit is required for the beach, either a 3-day pass or an annual, which is not much more expensive than the 3-day pass. Shovel, snatch strap and compressor are useful. But if not available, I'm sure we get enough together to share.

Regards
Sascha

I'll be there...

cheers,
..neil

Hi Sascha,
If I dont have to be in NZ that weekend then I'll be there too.
Trip down lavis lane brings up some memories....make sure your tow eyes are in...we might need them!
The servo before you get onto lavis lane sells the permit...about $5 for the day.

Hi Singh,

any ideas where you will be on Saturday 10am? Stockton or NZ?
Hope you can make it.

Sascha

If Singh can't make it, ,I'm good for the following Saturday if that suits you Sascha, What about you Singh??

Hi guys, i was able to get out to NZ last weekend and can make it on the 29th but would prefer the following saturday, have few things to do. Havent had the time to swap tyres and wire up the new antenna.
Plus the weather forecast for hunter/newcastle doesnt seem to be favourable for this weekend- its supposed to rain all week.
Also, spoke to Frank & he might join us as well.
So, shall we make it 5th June?

Twas the dark of the moon on the fifth of June..... looks like we got us a CONVOY

Sorry, old song, old movie - but 5th of June suits me fine!

Hi Sascha, Neil & Singh,

Love to be part of the outing but I can't do the 5th of June. I have a family outing on this day.

regards

Frank

I'm easy, we can have it any weekend when everyone is available....is next sunday suitable for all?

Sorry to hear you can't come Frank, it's always fun...
But who's still up for this Saturday, 5th June for Stockton Beach? I can't really do the Sunday, but am still keen for some sand driving practice.

Hm... after Singh's suggestion for Sunday I made an appointment for Saturday that I can't change. Sorry. Sunday is still ok for me.

I'm keen on some sand driving practice. I'm available the next couple of weekends (if we don't change the date to close to the day).

Last Saturday would have been good :)

Sascha
PS - got a nice Sandflag now, Blackwidow from ARB.

seems like we wont be able to get out this weekend then...
how much for the flag Sascha, and where do you plan to bolt it down?

I can offer the following Sundays: 13 or 20 June.

Singh,
The flag was $169, three pieces with quick release mount. Nice big orange flag. I plan to mount it on a roof bar. Got an aerial mounting plate for it.

aerial mounting plate? does the aerial mount on this plate that can be wrapped around the roof rail?
Hi Singh,

not sure if I understand the question. The roof bar has a rail/track into which for example the roof rack is pushed. I use the Rhino Heavy Duty Aero Bars.

The Aerial Mounting Plate is pushed into the same rail/track and tightened up. The plate than looks to the front or the rear of the roof bar and has a hole for the aerial to be mounted/screwed in. It doesn't wrap around the roof bar.

Hope that helps. If not I'll take a picture these days.

thanks Sascha, where did you get the aerial mounting plate from?

Hi Singh,

it's a Rhino product and I bought at Roof Rack City in Haberfield, but am sure that every other Rhino dealer can get it in quickly. Was $20 something dollars I think.

Btw, I plan to get a second one for my actual aerial :)
