Hi fellow members
I see in the owners manual that VW state that vans with LED tail light clusters, cannot be integrated into the anti-left alarm system due to technical reasons. Not a major issue for me, but is anyone aware of any other issues that might happen as well? Have just fitted OEM tow bar/wiring and am about to start looking for an auto electrician to set up the rest of the wiring. (Brake Controller/ESC/Fridge power/etc)
If there are any little traps that others have experienced, would appreciated hearing from you.

Just for those interested, here are comments I received back from a large auto electric business that have done a number of Touareg's.
"It is very difficult to say with Volkswagen’s and LED lamps, it really depends on the brand of led lamps installed on the Van. Some Volkswagens need load resistors installed on the caravan and some need the load box supplied by Volkswagen. It is possible that neither will not be needed.
The best thing to do is have the wiring done and once you have picked the van up then be tested and if required just add resistors or load box.

I don’t think we have any problems with the anti-theft systems, normal we have no other issues.

Bob,
I think they gave you the correct advice from my experience which is limited and based with the <2010 (7L) model.

I use a VW load box and everything works fine but there are others which everything works without requiring any other aids added.
With the 7L's the issue was when non Led bulbs were fitted, hence my load box, seems there has been a 360 turnaround with the latest model yielding the same issues.
FWIW, I would just go ahead and do the required wireing and problem solve afterwards if necessary.
