Immobiliser Activated HELP!

Hi,
I hope I can explain my issues succinctly. I live in the Middle East and I’ve got an ‘09 V6. On Friday, I took my dogs out and left them in the car (with engine running and a/c on). I then remotely locked the car as always. When I came back the car was unlocked and the tailgate wouldn’t open. I tried the button on the key and the tailgate itself, but no luck. Managed to open it by the switch on the drivers door. This is now the only way it opens!
I don’t know if it’s linked, but, I now can’t turn the car on by using the start/stop button (it says IMMOBILISER ACTIVATED) I have to use the key in the ignition. Also, the remote central locking has stopped working.
Are all these issues linked? Could it be as simple as just needing a new battery in the remote?

Do you have another remote nearby to try? If that also does not work, replace the battery in one of them to see if it makes a difference. Did one of the dogs maybe step on or hit a switch to lock / unlock in the car while you were away? Maybe a battery disconnect for a few minutes and reconnect will reset the system. Others will pipe in.

Thanks, I’ll get another battery for the key and try that.

Make sure you use a reliable brand like Duracell not some cheap rubbish.

No luck with the battery! Will have to take it to the dealership
