Anyone installed one of these in a 2004 Treg with a Delta radio?
Thx

The Maisun HU was for Touaregs without dyna audio.yes, dyna audio option
How can I find out if I have the Dyna option? I got my Tregg second hand, and am not sure if it has that option. I came with the VW OEM satnav with tweeters allover the car.The Maisun HU was for Touaregs without dyna audio.
I think you have some major rewiring to do in order for this maisun HU to work with an Dyna set-up. If you plug in the Maisun unit to the Touareg harness then you are sending the wrong signals to the dyna amplifier. That could be causing your hissing and maybe more problems.
Thanks for the great info - I'll be following your next report with interest. For those still with issues (speaker hiss, reboots, etc). These all went away for me.
Actually I never had a speaker hiss after connecting the ACC for permanent power to the HU. Mainly HU reboots. I changed settings to get rid of all audio tones when a key is pressed and the reboots are gone (1week).
I did a reset to default after my last install (+1 week) by using a paper clip and then changed all the appropriate settings within each menu (NAV, Setup, Radio, etc) to my desired settings (mute button audio, Nav setings, baud rates, etc). These worked great for me.Thanks for the great info - I'll be following your next report with interest.
One thing that has happened to me is that my HU Nav has now locked-up. I started getting 'Out of Memory' message boxes a couple days ago and when I turned on the unit today the Nav screen I was on the day before showed up with multiple out of memory errors. Clearing them by clicking Ok seems to have done it in.
Now I need to know is how to give the unit the old 3 fingered salute? What is the reset procedure? I can't seem to find that anywhere and haven't struck the right button combo. I too have constant power to ACC. I think I may also have 'lost' the hiss - but it was there even with the same power to ACC on install.
Because there are several ways to get to an application Radio/Nav/Bluetooth/etc either via the push buttons or the touch screen buttons - I am wondering as I click through some of the applications are might not be shutting down properly?![]()
Excellent - I pulled the unit from the dash and pulled the power block to reset - I have two holes one of which will be the microphone - was it the top right side hole?I did a reset to default after my last install (+1 week) by using a paper clip and then changed all the appropriate settings within each menu (NAV, Setup, Radio, etc) to my desired settings (mute button audio, Nav setings, baud rates, etc). nickm - What Kenwood model did you go with? Does it snap-in with your dynaradio setup? Or, do you need a lot of rewiring/external amp?Folks, I've decided to go with a Kenwood unit for my '04, I just got a great deal on a top of the line unit. If anyone is interested in my Maisun that I had bought for this Treg, its yours for $450 shipped anywhere in Canada or USA. I installed it for 1 minute into my '07 to make sure everything works, otherwise its unused.
I finally got a couple of hours to install my unit into my baseline '05. Still learning the interface and pretty much report the same issues as everyone else on this thread so far. I haven't had time to install the backup camera that came from the same vendor yet. Nor have I had time into install my Sirius Sat unit to the Aux input which awaits it. This weekend hopefully.
My only major dislikes are having to have constant power to the ACC and the hiss that others have reported. If anyone finds a fix for that please post. I'll ping the supplier to see what if anything they can suggest.
The wiring to the rear amp needs to be redone on the '04...I went with a DNX 9660. I haven't installed it yet, likely in a week or two as I get time to get around ti ot.nickm - What Kenwood model did you go with? Does it snap-in with your dynaradio setup? thanks!
PS - this info has been invaluable to me and likely saved me $500 on the radio and a likely another trip to rehab. Props to all you guys on the one!!!!
Usually stereo head units can be set to either to send the wattage they are capable (4x45) directly to the speakers or you can choose output to amplifier which reduces the output to a lower level that works with the amplifier. I'm not speaking of low level output as you would have with the digital output but just lower level that doesn't exaggerate/create noise that will only be re-amplified at the second amp. I don't have a Maison unit but look at all the options and settings and see if there is such.Hi, guys - any ladies?
I also noticed the hiss when my engine was off so I checked in the back, and surprise, I have an 8 Ch amplifier in the back. (also bought the truck used - sorry; previously enjoyed). I have a DE2 CD radio, no changer.
A check with Vag shows multiple speaker errors so my guess is it's been installed later...
So all of us with amps, we're feeding an amplifier signal input with a really high level amplified speaker signal, no wonder it hisses, I'm amazed it works at all and doesn't get awfully distorted...
An easy fix might be to change connections at HU so those 8 wires are connected to the HU signal outputs not the speaker connections. The question is if the volume control adjusts those outputs or they are fixed level? Anyone?...
I have sent multiple emails to Maisun (Sherry) with regards to GPS not receiving any signal. And having to reset the unit everytime it has been powered down to receive the signal.Yes. GPS working again after completely depowering the unit.
Someone on the forum said the units have a paperclip reset hole on them which he uses instead of removing the unit from thr dash.

Ok - not sure if this is a problem or not but as I'm sure you have read on this thread - most people has applied always on 12volts to the ACC line. Otherwise its reported that settings are lost. That's the way I connected mine so I have to power it off manually. This way the unit still stays energized. That's why I was interested in Madlac's solution through a series of relays.Yes when I turn the ignition off the unit turns off.
No I don't have it connected to ACC. It is wired exactly how it came from Maisun.
What is off. Sometimes I will go for days without any problems and then it will just stop. Then I just have to reset unit and it will work. And then it just stops working, till I just unplug it for a while.
