Thank you. I detailed cars pretty much my entire life and did it professionally for Lexus. I tend to keep my cars clean and maintained, it does get muddy when I go shooting which is about 4-7 times a month. This car gets washed weekly and vacuumed almost daily because I can’t stand the sight of a dirty interior.

You can tell your a pro, me not so much lol. My body shop guy told me “never to do more than a wash” this was after I burnt my clear coat trying to get a scratch out of my Cayenne ( expensive lesson) [emoji23][emoji23], Have you ever tried a ceramic coating?

Man I’m sorry to hear that. Paint correction is rough even for professionals who work on different types of cars. I was extremely fortunate that Lexus has a legit certification process that requires a classroom environment and applied skills type of curriculum so I learned like my job depended on it... because it did.

I have not used ceramic coatings but do like them. I’ve seen mixed results but mostly positive. The issues I’ve seen is it becomes obvious when the coating starts wearing and the only way you can really even it out is to strip it and start again. Higher end coatings are phenomenal but not as user friendly to apply. I’ve actually seen some attract dust which boggles my mind.

Lastly if you’d like a suggestion, I use Griots Garage products. I’ve been using them for a long time. It’s very user friendly and their polishing/waxing system is very intuitive and their instructions are extremely easy. It’s a Random Orbital so it’s impossible to burn the paint when waxing. I use their foamer system and a brush instead of a soapy bucket and wash mitts.

Haha it’s ok, I’ve learned my lesson leave it to the pros [emoji23]. I was actually wet sanding when I burnt my clear coat. Maybe I should get a job a Lexus so they can teach me LOL.

For waxes I use ICE spray wax, it tends to last pretty long and easy to apply. I think the chemicals react really well to paint and give it a nice shine.

I’ve never tried a ceramic coating either as you said it’s hard to apply even for professionals. I did see that Adams has released a new product that’s a spray on ceramic coating that’s applied like wax. I may give it a try this summer
