I'm looking at getting out of my V6 and into an 8 or 10 once the facelift models show up. What is everyone getting for fuel economy when towing with etiher the 8 or 10?

Shadow at 7900 ft
This is near Kanab UT the sign says it all. As for ride the Royce tows the best of my 3 vehicles Dodge 2500 with 8 liter V10, and Touareg. In cross wind the Touareg is best. Power going up hills or 0-70 mph, the Touareg hands down is far better than either of the others. Escaping dangerous situations such as a Semi trying to run one off the road, Treg is tops. Then there is the worry factor with the Royce, they only made 500 of the LWB a few more Rams and Tregs! Gas mileage between Shadow and the Touareg very close, Dodge is worse by 2 mpg.

Thanks the RR club was not as impressed. One of the Rolls Royce American VPs wrote an article about the Shadows towing ability. He gave the tongue weights whole deal. The Shadow has 2000psi real leveling pistons/system so is set up for towing from the factory. This said the RR club in USA does not look at it that way. Rear end on a Shadow is pretty much a 1 ton set up, using coil springs.

The RR and van rig will no doubt have surprised quite a few folk but if it works then why not do it?!
