I placed the order earlier in the week. I had 15 people state interest but ultimately only 10 paid.

I ordered 2 two additional sets, the price is still at $360 plus shipping for the four sensors and stems. If two more people want to get in on the deal, here is what you have to do:

I have set up a couple of different ways to pay for the package. First, even though this group buy has nothing to do with our business, I temporarily added the TPMS package to our online store if you would like to use a credit card. The price on the store is $500 (to dissuade non-group buy members from placing an order) but you will enter a discount code to knock the price down to $360 plus $10 for the 2.9% + $.30 credit card fees I get charged on each transaction.

Another payment possibility is that you pay via check, cash or billpay through your bank. If you want to do this, please place your order through the online store but select the payment type as "Provide your payment information over the telephone". This will still calculate the shipping and subtract the discount. I'll then send you the name and mailing address for your check/cash/billpay payment to be sent to. The $10 credit card fee will of course be removed, but I will wait for your check to clear before sending the sensors.

*In all cases, I'll need each of you to submit your order through our online store just so I can keep track of who has paid and where the package will be sent.*

To use our online store, please go to the store and navigate to the "Tire and Wheel accessories" category where you will see the TPMS Product. A direct link to the item is here: http://www.precisionframe.com/store_...005RDV001.html

1. Choose a quantity of 1 set and add to your cart.

2. Choose to checkout. We do require an account to purchase something from our store so create an account and that will handle the shipping calculation too.

3. The discount code to lower the price is CTTPMS enter this in the discount box field and you should see an additional $130 off the original $500 price.

4. Choose the method of shipping. I have set up either USPS or UPS.

5. Choose the method of payment found just below the "How did you hear about us" check boxes, and complete your order.

You'll get the usual order confirmation information sent to the email address you entered.

I hope this makes sense to you. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. Thanks all!

DICKnNANCY,

I was waiting to pay you for the pieces until you had ordered them... sorry i didn't know you needed the money beforehand. I still want to order these from you. I'll pay you through your online store on Monday.

I have one more set available at the Group buy price. Next paid order will get this last set. I'm sorry, but I just don't have time to play email tag with unpaid orders.

Going forward, I'm trying to work out a deal with the vendor to get them for much less than the dealer is asking, but a bit more than the group buy price of $360 probably in the $390 range for the set of 4 sensors and 4 valve stems.

I should be mailing out the sensors as soon as I receive them, hopefully by the end of the week. I'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks!

I have a 2004 Touareg (original owner) with 82K miles. I get the Flat Tyre message (tires are all fine) so I assume there is a problem in the system. How can I tell if the problem is the sensors, in which case I'm certainly willing to purchase the new sensors with valve stems, vs the receivers/antennas, vs the control module that sends the warning? I don't have VAG-COM available. Thanks

No way really with out plugging into the computer, although I can tell you on our '04, as the sensors were dying, we got the occasional flat tire message that would come and go. Now that all sensors are dead and we get a TPM system fault message everytime we start the car, and the orange "no TPMS" symbol is a permanent fixture on the top of the MFI.

I'm assuming that once I have sensors installed that actually send a signal, and after a relearn, the fault message will go away. We'll see.

ALL TPMS GROUP BUY PACKAGES ARE SOLD NOW.

I was able to work out a deal with the vendor to get addditional sets of sensors and valve stems for $390 per set.

As such, I have changed the pricing on the store and updated the price to reflect the ongoing price.

If anyone else that missed out on the group buy wants to buy the package from this point forward, you can buy it from our online store at Beru RDE005 Sensor package

Beru RDE005 Sensor package
This package contains 4 Beru RDE005 sensors and 4 RDV001 Beru 43 mm Long Valve Stems.

These fit the Volkswagen Touareg 2004-2007. Original VW part number is 7L0907275.

Thanks all,

Nancy

Member update...

Just an update to the group buy members.

I received an email from the vendor in CA this morning and the sensors should arrive form Germany Thursday or Friday. Next they'll be sent on to me and I'll bet them mailed out to everyone. I have all the boxes labeled and ready to go. I just need the contents!

I'm estimating they will be in the mail to the members mid next week. I'll continue to keep everyone posted when I get them.

Thanks for everyone's help and patience.

The sensors have arrived!

I have sent each of you an email with further details.

They were assembled in Germany on 12/21/2009 so they should be good to go for another 5 years or so. Now we can all enjoy peace and quiet, no more TPMS warnings or errors! I'll try to post pictures of what you will be receiving, shortly.

For those of you in Northern climates where road salt or chemicals are used, be prepared to need your old sensors/valve stems cut or chiseled out of your rims. Ask your tire changer to apply some tire lube to the new valve stem where it goes through the rim so your next set is not so tough to remove.

If you have aftermarket wheels, check to be sure the valve stems fit properly in the wheel before dismounting any others.

Thanks for participating in the group buy. I hope everything goes well. Please do let me know that you received your package.

Thanks much,

Nancy

If you have a 2004 it is 99% sure the sensors are toast.
You can buy new ones or have the system disabled

The sensors have arrived!
Nancy/Dick--Is your latest batch of sensors for 2004-07 Tregs (only)? Or can they be used on T2's as well? If so, do you sell them individually (eg. for equipping full-size spares)? Thanks--Chris

Chris, I am pretty sure they were doing a group buy for the first gen sensors which will not work with your 2010.

That's what I figured, but it never hurts to ask.

I have an 04' V8 that has been throwing out that anoying flat tyre warning for months now. Did replacing all 4 sensors fix the problem for anyone? I have a mechanic who is suggesting that the TPMS module itself is fried and therefore all 4 sensors and the module need to be replaced, a much more expensive fix. Would appreciate the feedback.

On a 2004, the odds are that the sensor batteries are past their design life. You could do a VAG-COM scan to see if there is a TPMS receiving module fault. Of course, the least expensive recourse is to just turn off the the TPMS;)

I replaced all 4 sensors (and valve stems) on my '04 Touareg V8 for the "Flat Tyre" message about a month ago. No further problems for me.

I have heard from many of the broup buy members and all have said the same thing. Dick just installed a set in a customers 04 V8 and took care of his problem (had to chisel all 4 out)

Dick will be replacing ours Thursday so I too can look forward to the missing warning on our '04 V10

I wish all the folks that have bought sensors from me AFTER the group buy ended would have bought them before and we could have gotten an even lower price.

Nancy just noticed this post. I would be up for 2 if you have any left overs.
