I searched, but did not see anything on this topic, so I started a new one. I tried to fold my rear seats down for the first time today. I've had the Treg for almost 3 months and love it. When I went to pull the handle on the bottom of the seat to fold it forward, it lifted up, but I could not get it far enough forward to lock or stay in place to fold down the back part of the seat. I tried both sides and the same thing happened. Am I missing something on folding down the seats? Any help ASAP would be appreciated!!!

rear fold seats

you need to pull on the handle a little more up, till the seat dis-lodges itself and then fold forward. That should do the trick.

Thank You!! It worked! I wish the manual would say what you said. Thanks again! :joy:

I struggled with this and gave up a few times, knowing I would be going to the dealer. The service desk manager couldn't do it either and wrote up a tag. I got it home and thought they must have "fixed" it while it was in for maintenance. But I still couldn't get the seats down. Then I found this post and it worked - took like 20 seconds to fold one down. It just "seems" like you should pull out on the handle. But once I pulled up instead, it popped right in to place.

Thanks!

Whats the button in the middle on the side of the headrests for ? I know there is a button you press to take them all the way OUT, but thats at the seat and headrest bar?

That's a good question. My headrests go up and down and tilt with or without the button being pushed.

while waiting for my T2 to be delivered, i read as much as i could. so when i tried to fold my rear seat forward, i tugged the front of the seat to lift it up. but nothing. i guess they changed it since mine just lifts forward and the seat back locks into place. there's a bracket on the seat back (under the headrest) that locks onto the underside of the seat bottom. pretty cool.

On a related note, the manual seems to indicate that there is a place to store the headrests within the seat. I found a place to shove the middle headrest under the back floor but have no place to put the big side rests. Any idea? Do I leave them home in the garage when I am taking the dogs for a long trip?

I remove the headrests, and lay them flat on the floor. Then, the bottom seat cushion, when flipped up, ends up with its leading edge resting on them. Keeps them out of the way, as well as keeps them from flying about the cargo hold.

There are also recesses in the rear edge of the bottom cushion, which are aimed toward the ceiling when the seat is folded. They plug right in there, but in my experiences there's not really enough room with the front seats back far enough to be comfortable for the headrests to fit well in there.

There are holes in seat bottoms of the rear seat when you have them folded against the front seats. This is where you put your headrest when the rear seat is folded down.

...if you have a 24" inseam and sit on top of the steering wheel :p

I'm not that tall, and with my seat where I'm comfy, they just don't fit. I think you're taller than me, but they still fit there? I guess I have my seat too far back then, eh?

Check the center seat belt to see if it is locked and will not travel I have got a five day old 2010 and the seatbelt is locked and will not allow me to fold down or up the seat. Big G

Ours did the same thing, the hinge is just tight and needs WD 40. Simply release the seat bottom..Before rotating it forward, sharply jerk the leading edge up straight toward the roof, it will release ..lube the hinge..and all will be well..happy motoring..dean

If you depress the button on the side of the headrest while pushing down on the top of the headrest, it will allow you lower the headrest about an inch and a half onto its support posts. It's how you get the headrests completely down after lowering them using the collar mechanism on the top of the seat backs.
