I just got a '04 V8 Touareg. While driving it home I got off at an offramp with hard cornering to the right, noticed about a cup of water spilled on my right foot. Liquid did not smell like antifreeze, just water. Any ideas where this would come from and what is leaking? I looked under the dash and didn't notice and steady dripping.

Thanks, Josh

Your drainplugs are clogged up with leaves. There is lots more water where that came from.
Remove the inner fender wells on both sides and you can get the holes going again.
Might want to do that outside due to all the water coming out.
There are likely some write ups on this topic so do a search

It was not the drain plugs

Thanks for the feedback, I finally got a chance to check out the drain plugs and removed all on both sides, but no water came out. Not a single drop. I did a little digging under the dash and noticed the AC ducting that feed the cosmetic under dash covers near the center console are wet internally. I also noticed the unit under the passenger dash has a lot of condensation. I'm not too worried about the contestation since that usually happens on AC units, but I'm mostly concerned about the water in the AC ducting, since that is not normal. My carpet seems to be soaked all the way through into the passengers foot wells. Any additional thoughts on what might be wrong would be helpful.

Thanks

Your evaporator drain is clogged and the condensation is overflowing into the car/ductwork.

You need to clear the drain. I don't have my Bentley on this PC and don't know where the drain outlet is, since I haven't had to do this on my Treg yet. Normally the drain will be a rubber hose/nipple under the passenger side cowl area and you might be able to find it by crawling under the car. Sometimes it exits in the wheel well area. Usually you can clear it with a piece of solid insulated 14 gauge wire. The water and clog will drain out once loosened by the wire.

If the bottom end of the drain is not accessible, you will have to get to the evaporator drain from the top. This will mean pulling some of the interior apart. I know from doing this on my Audi A6 that you get to the top of the drain by peeling back the carpet in the passenger footwell.

Sorry for a less than definite answer.

Did you poke in it with some wire or so? clog could be higher up in there?

Thanks for the suggestions, I was able to drain about a quart of water from the evaporator by disconnecting the hose under the passenger dash. The car is being serviced so I'm having the guys access the drain plug on the firewall so it will flow properly again.

Thanks, Josh
