I do have one more set ready to go...first to paypal gets it.

vwfans, thanks for payment...will ship to you tomorrow and will provide tracking number.

crazy treg, how much did you pay to get yours replace? did you replace just the rods or the complete kit (approx $330)?
I repaired my actuator rod with staples and JB weld, but with the new aluminum rod it should hold up just fine, thanks again.

Hey guys take a look at the shaft which this rod is pushing. Mine was very hard to move. The shaft suppose to move back when is no vacuum applied to the actuator. I thing that can be one of the factors why the rods are breaking up.
The springs on the actuator control the return of variable intake runners without any vacuum. They are hard to turn by hand and the plastic rods are a cheap ineffective way to actuate the movement and also a weak link which causes failure do to the mechanical stresses put upon the cheap piece of plastic. Obviously some cheap alternative plastic piece and bad engineering.

in ma case the springs have not enought strenght to move the sfaft back. the shafts are prety much stock. You have to use lots of power to move the shaft in any direction.

don't worry, all you have to do to release the vacumm pressure is to unplug the small hose within the vacumm diaphram. this releases all the vacumm pressure and allows the diaphram to move freely once again.

I had the same issue...

O course I did it at the beggining. Still not moving as should. The spring is not enought to put the shaft back in place. I have even removed the actuator at all. I have sprayed the shaft with WD-40 and move it maybe 100 times within whole range. That helped a little bit but still is not moving as the other side.

Ken, I'm currently out of town racing off road, the Vegas to Reno race. I will not be able to ship anything till 2.5 weeks from now. If you can wait send me another PM in 2 weeks when I return and will gladly send you a set.

thanks

GRUVENPARTS.COM will be making them, they are just waiting for me to send them a sample.

Hey guys, we will be manufacturing billet versions of these rods from 6061-T651 to replace the plastic.

As soon as the plastic samples arrive we will measure and CAD them up. We are also manufacturing upgraded bushings for the intake rod, Im sure everyone is aware of the issues the VR6 guys have been having. We should have the rods ready in a few weeks and the upgraded bushings shortly thereafter.

Anyone who needs to contact us regarding this part or any other ideas can do us at the following -

Thanks!

I think you may get the same HP but you should get it much faster with the links installed. they operate a flap valve in the throttle/intake body that makes the T-reg accelerate (like a passing gear) much faster and becomes more responsive to quick acceleration under load.

The linkages work great and got a lot of attention at my dealership once
they were put in. Since I was having other issues with the car, they put
them in for me. The VW mechanics think it's a great solution. They found
that the linkages fully closed are at factory specs.

Thank you Keg and Rudy so much for helping me get these.

glad to hear that the factory mechanincs like them too. thanks for the positive comments Mike.

Ken and Dale should receive their links any day now. I asked them to post once they install them. I hope they are as happy with them as the factory mechanics.
