Great Deal! My boat is in the water, that means I have barn space. Anybody know where I might find a Cranberry/Tan V10? I love that color combo. My dealer had a V6 like that, I thought it was the nicest I've ever seen. For $32K it's time to hide one for later. These new one's are going to be mommy mobiles.

Funny you should mention, there is one 06 with exact color you mentioned, for about $36K and they would not move.

So I decided to fly in and get her myself, hope Texans gonna let me into their state and later let me out with no trouble:)
I figure 1000 miles in V10 are not the worst thing in the world, my son and I should enjoy it this time of the year.

BTW, do we have any members in Houston, maybe they can take a look at the rig for me, before I send in certified check? So far I only paid deposit with CC.

I'm in SoCal so I can't help with the tire kicking;) But the trip sounds like a great experience for you and your son. Gonna take a couple days and see some sights? You know, swing over a couple states to the grand canyon and such? Take lots of pics, and one of my personal favorites, shoot one of the new Treg as soon as it comes into view. You gotta have your camera out and ready to shoot, but those shots are some of the best to look back on from cars that have come and gone over the years... Technically, if it was a 'project car' its fun to compare the before's and after's with that shot.

you would think so but actually out of 47 governors, most elected have been left. They have only elected 6 rep. governors. However, the last 14 years have been right. My guess is now that the Bush-Perry, white house-texas, "allstars" are over, it will settle back down

Enjoy the drive!!! I really with i could have driven my V10 back to Seattle from Boston.. but it was just a bit too far. Three years ago a purcahsed a 05 Nissan Z down in Dallas.. my wife and i drove it back to Seattle... it was a blast!

CPO can only be added if it is bought from a VW dealer. This one appears to be from a Toyota Dealer.
I disagree, there is a VW dealer here in Missoula Montana that will run your touareg through the inspection after you already own it, and if you pay the premium (I was quoted 2800) can have the title of a CPO. I have spoke with him several times about it because the service contract I was fooled into purchasing doesn't cover much. I was thinkin about it until I decided I want a diesel Touareg...

I'm sure if a VW Dealer in Montana will provide this, there has to be other VW Dealers out there to do the same!

OK, now that my search is over and my current car's resale value at its hysterical, diesel price related peak, check out my eBay auction mock up:

What do you think?
I don't know what you agreed to pay for the V10 but after seeing the photos inside and the specs on your jeep, you just downgraded in some respects. You are going to a vehicles with less mpg, less cargo space, no full size spare, no touch screen nav, but costing considerably more $.

With the v10 you're getting a lot of fun and air suspension which based on your taste in wheels on the Jeep, you may never fully utilize anyway other than just for kicks - meaning you probably don't "need" it.

The Jeep is more able to be modified for rugged use, has a longer flat roof for better rack systems, and the spare is already tucked away not using up space.

I don't understand except that I have done similar dumb moves - probably why I'm reacting to your choice this way, so don't take it personally. What's "wrong" with the Jeep? You could do a medium spring lift, proper wheels/tires, and have a great trail tourer.

Maybe I should buy it for a project vehicle!

Upsolute tuning package on it and you have 253 hp and 428 lbs of torque.
Since it is a lot lighter it will keep up with the treg easy.
However it is not a touareg

Looks damn good...I actually like the Cherokee CRD quite a bit, so unique for a Jeep.

Points well taken, however my rationale on this one is bullet proof.
a. I am not happy with Jeep's design in many parts. I do not like old school Sprinter transmission that shifts like hydromatic Chevy, I do not like awful bouncy shocks and struts, because these 18" wheels are super heavy. I am also not happy with rock crawler gear ratio, that makes my Jeep spin at 3000 rpm, while going 80mph. Overall these 40% of Mercedes is definitely not enough to make this vehicle fun for me, however someone will love it to death.

b. I am trying to capitalize on VW's marketing mistake of making $75K vehicle under VW logo. V10 was more of a statement, than model and when they fixed all major bugs by the end of 05, it became a truly overachiever in its class. There is not much to comare it to, it is like Porsche 917 with 4WD.
I know it will suck navigation wise, like most Germans do, it will not give me more than 20mpg and it will cost more to maintain. However, I will have a luxury ride, more features than Mercedes S class and so many foot pounds of torque that butterflies will never leave my tummy :D
c. Last but not least, cargo space of GC is lesser than that of T-reg. As the matter of fact, Toyota Highlander has more cargo space than the GC.

BTW, I got my GC when diesel was nearly $5/gal and dealer in NC could not give it away. So if I sell it now for $28-29K, will only be loosing around $5K in depreciation, which is less than if I bought Honda Pilot, or some other trendy crap with tin foil metal on it.

sounds like a good plan and reasoning. $29k sounds like a very fair price.

I think you will love the Treg, but miss some of the jeep features. It might have been 75k,but in three years it lost half it's value, just wondering why.I miss some things from my 02 GC,that vw took away or doesn't offer. In 2010 the new GC will be built on the MB550 mold with air suspension like the Treg, all new lux interior, better mpg and hp,just a thought.

Yes, 2011 GC does look appealing, however first year it will be an Alpha version, second Beta and third year on it will be safe to own. Plus, Chrysler will find the way to cheapen it up from what they presented at the NY auto show.
