I am looking to buy a new Touareg very soon, and I think I like the white color, but I am not sure since I havent seen one in person. What I want to know is, is the Campy White a WHITE color or does it have a little bit of tan or off white in it. I dont like the off white of the lincoln MKX, so if its like that, I will go with a different color. but if its like the candy white found on all VW's other cars, that would be great!

also the pictures of it in the Campy white probably dont do it justice since in some pictures it does look white, and in others its off white. its just confusing :)

thanks

It's like the other VW vehicles. Yes, it has just a touch of tan in it in the right light. I LOVE my campy white!

Thanks for the info, but Ike, could you possibly take a picture of your two cars side by side, so I can get a better idea. I really like the Candy white because its a pure white. but if the campy is pretty close, I still might get it. but I really dont like the white color of the MKX and I am worried that it might be like that color. I hope not!!

I am probably going to put an in for order one tomorrow

the campy white looks white and is white. It does not look tan or off-white. However, the color does, to me, look shaded or ever so slightly grey tinted in the shade, but that is wholly the effect of the light you are looking at it in.

You really will need to look at one in person too see if it meets what you are looking for... It's one fine white!! :)

page 49-50 zoom outs give you an idea. Campy is LR9A and Candy is LB9A. The problem, first off, is that I don't think the site does a great job representing these whites, but also this kind of layout causes tint accenting that otherwise does not occur when looking solely at the tint components of the one color. Anytime you compare 2 or more colors simultaneously, the different combinations can tend to bring out tints that you would never see if you considered the merits of the individual color without a comparison- because in a sense you are superimposing parts of the other color on your color which can change the way your color looks if viewed by itself.

Also, again, the type of light- artificials vs natural, and the amount of shading will also cause a different visual appeal to the color.

It sounds like your goal is to have a certain type of white (or maybe to not have a certain tint), then your
best bet, ulitmately, is to look at Campy in person and then separately look at Candy in person and see what you think. I wouldn't bother to do a side by side unless you are going to have both in the driveway
