If you’re looking for a superb replacement wiper blade than I strongly recommend to anybody to buy the ANCO Profile blade (model A-26-M). They’re designed like the OEM Bosch blades, including the airfoil. I own two T-Regs and as my wife will testify, my biggest complaint about the vehicles has been the crappy wiper blades. No more skipping, streaking or noise with these as they perform perfectly. I bought mine at Pep Boys for $14.99/ea plus a $10 mail-in rebate. Right next to the ANCO’s was the OEM Bosch blade for $29.99/ea – DUH! – Don’t drink the cool-aid, by the ANCO product.

But shipping is $9 so that makes $38
Dealer charges $40 for two
I haven't checked with my dealer as I haven't been in for service for a long time. But the poster above me said $60 at his dealer. So he could save at least $20. And the OEM blades are so simple to replace.

I just bought the OEM wiper blades from Bud, down at Checkered VW for $15 a piece. Sure I had to pay shipping, but I was getting a bunch of stuff, like fuel filter, oil filters air filters, so all in all I paid about $9 in shipping for everything.

2 Oil filters
1 Fuel Filter
3 wiper blades (2F 1R)
1 Air Filter

If you get a bunch of items, the shipping becomes worth it, hell the price difference on the fuel filter alone with tax at the local stealer would have covered the shipping!

But it is good to know, if you are in desperate need and on the road!!!

saw this last night and ran to Pep boys myself; indeed these appear much improved from the OEM wipers (my wife HATED the noise).

To the OP, the mount is a bit longer than OEM, did you shave the wiper arm cover to accomodate, or cut off part of the mounting bracket on the wiper?

Thanks!

I picked up the ANCO wipers yesterday and they work great....no chatter. Mine came with four different adapters to fit different types of attachment/mounts. The adapter I chose fit on the Egg with no modification. Thx for the tip

a bit scared when i was told it would be 80 dollars to replace my wipers, until i found this site. I found replacement blades 2f 1r with shipping for $47 and some change at www.partsgeek.com OEM Bosche, and they ARE easy to change. New to Treg, just got an 05 V8 sliver/anthracite interior, 52k miles The best riding car I've ever had. Thank you all for you honesty in the repair costs, that was a worry to me as well. But, trading in my 04 Kia Optima, and being able to drive the treg,,is incredible.

Do your American dealers change the whole wiper blades or just replace the inserts? My VW dealer in New Zealand replaces just the inserts which is way cheaper and its a factory part. Just checked XE currency convertor. Our genuine VW wiper refills cost $7.75 Ameriacn dollars each. ( someones getting ripped off somewhere ).

Parts Geek

I recently ordered A BUNCH of stuff from Discount Auto Parts – Mercedes Parts, BMW Parts, Volvo Parts, Volkswagen Parts – PartsGeek.com.

They had the pair of Bosch wipers for $30 but I can't find them on the site now. They only list the rear wiper ($10) and the wiper blade refills ($14.99/each) now. Strange.

I ended up ordering Ignition coils & spark plugs for the 40k mile tune-up, the front & rear wipers, an air filter, 2 replacement yellow parking light bulbs, an in-cabin air filter and an oil filter from them. Prices seemed pretty reasonable for everything else. And more importantly, everything I ordered from them was the right part for my 2004 v-6 Treg.

Dealer prices have come down a lot. They used to be prohibitively expensive ($80) but now they are often cheaper than shipping online orders.

OK looks like the wipers I ordered are back in stock at Partsgeek.com:
2004 Volkswagen Touareg Wiper Blade Set - Body Electrical - Bosch, Front - PartsGeek

$31.95 for the set and I installed them in a few seconds. Enter "SAVE5" in the coupon section for 5% off.

A little off-topic but I was also able to order 2 new Bi-Xenon headlights from them at this link:
2004 Volkswagen Touareg Headlight Bulb - Body Electrical - Heliolite, Sylvania - PartsGeek
it's the last one on the bottom, part #W0133-1647934. I installed both of them and they work perfectly.

My 40K service included the blades recently but good to know about aftermarket options for my own changing next time.

Per a tip from VWVortex, Touareg AeroTwin OEM blades on Amazon.com, $30.28.
