Why is it everywhere I go to try and find replacement speakers, everybody's "book" or "computer" says they are 6.5" ? But Xtant says his are 8"? Has anyone else replaced their speakers yet? Is there a post on how to remove the front and rear door panels? If so could someone point me in the right direction? HELP!!!!

Look at xtant's system and his posts. I'd put my trust in what he has done versus what other places computers are saying.

if you look at my sounddomain page or my picassa web album it shows the stock holes and I think the speakers. The holes in the door are actually like 10" but the stock speaker diameter is 8". No matter what speakers you get you will have to make adaptors because of the diameter of the hole and the fact that there is only like 1" of depth between the door skin and the window. Those retailers you speak of propably list 6.5 because its the biggest speaker they sell and it will fit with an adaptor. Basically you can mount any size speaker in there you will only be limited by depth. I wouldnt recomend replacing the speakers unless you plan on adding an amp. Just replacing the speakers will not increase your volume or bass response the best you can hope for is a more liniar frequency response. The stock speakers are actually very good as far as stock speakers go. If you want more bass ad an amp and sub, if you want more volume add an amplifier and if you want speakers aswell.
