Welcome to the club waiting for their MY15's to arrive.

When I ordered mine, I was not even offered the choose of a genuine towbar.

Will be interested to hear how you go with Google Online services when you get yours.
Confirmed from VW Australia today that that Aust spec does not get Mobile Service/Google Street View.

Re-confirmed with a local dealer that Aust MY15 spec does not get this feature:(

Will be interested to find out if you can just enable this via VCDS options.

Have a 14.5my with sim slot, useless, as it kills the default Bluetooth connection to you phone. I was hoping that my data sim would supply functionality for other applications eg: hot spot. But the system believes it's a phone sim and won't default connect to my Bluetooth on iPhone 6.
Interestingly Audi with the same system have a software update that fixes this, but asking VW I got that strange distant look.
I'm getting use to that look!

Thats annoying. If the MY15 UK Touaregs are actually shipping with Google services enabled as is suggested, they will have to come up with a fix.
Although I am not interested in using the SIM slot per se. It is more an indication that the hardware should be hotspot ready. This makes it possible to drive data back the other way from smart phone to car. Then is we can get the Google apps running we can feed them with data from a phone.
When you placed a sim in your car did a wifi hotpot get created in the in the RNS850 or were there any menu options to configure the SIM behaviour?

Yes. Have Hot spot. Nothing in the menu to configure SIM

Unless I'm missing something. I loose phone book and phones Bluetooth

it's the latest MMI FW. I'll wait to see if the MY15 has the option as Audi does.

I had a look at the German spec Touareg's RNS850 in December and google maps worked great. Not looking into it too much but a sim card was there and it provided Bluetooth capability from the user's phone. Visually the RNS850 was of no difference from my unit (2 x SD card readers and a sim card slot). Google maps worked very well but standard maps were available in the system's harddrive.

Also a point to note - German spec Touaregs are not as optioned as our models, a base 150TDI is very basic with the pricing over in Germany not that better than what we receive. To spec out a 180TDI (now called a 193TDI) to what we get is looking at 66,000 Euro, that is about $97,000 AU in todays rates. When I say spec to our level that is what you would pay with the options as standard in Australia. True you can configure your vehicle to how ever you want and only pay for those things that you need. Hey you can even pick it up from Wolfsburg at their glass towers and have someone who knows the vehicle deliver it to you. Factory orders are generally available within 6 weeks, now how is that for service.

That all sounds quite promising actually. Flipper the DE car you tested in December would have to have been built NOV or earlier one would think. My car which I get in ten day is I suspect an early NOV build (complied Jan). While its RNS850 & MMI load will be different, there is a good chance they both will have both addressed the issue Easy6 speaks of.

In Europe it seems the Google POI & mapping is a subscription service called Car NET. However this may just be a subscription for the data feed including SIM.

Thinking about getting a new 150, anyone care to share what they paid, pm me if you don't want to make it public.

I managed to get a whole $490 off!! So, $68,000 neat for a 150 with Tungsten silver paint. Bastard didn't even give me a keyring on delivery. Now just waiting on Peter to get back so I can get the Bluefin on and make sure it works with whatever changes they made to make the CJMA engine 450nm.

This did not work for me. I entered the VIN WVGDP9BPFD005995 and it said no records found.

I think that site works for Touareg shipped out to various destinations:

I just entered mine (masking last three digits) and it came up telling me that mine in sitting on a transporter getting delivered to the dealer :)

Your VIN does not look like a Touareg, so may not be usable, or it may not have arrived at the shipping company yet.

Well I registered that VIN on VW+ website, it came up as a Touareg right away. I guess the VIN configurations must be different for different areas of the world?
Mine is scheduled to be shipped Mar 30. It started factory build Jan 19 and had final factory check on Feb 20.
