The owner manual has the regular maintenance schedule but I was curious of real life experiences or suggestions. Thanks!

Depends what we are talking about. Big ticket items or day to day longevity. Can I say let common sense prevail. The big one I guess would be the oil change I would do every 10000 kms not 15000kms like the service book says. Maybe even bring it down to half if you are in dusty conditions or mainly city driving

Hi, I change my fuel filter yearly regardless of mileage. I have a K&N style air filter that I clean yearly as well.

I think the OP is asking about Fuel filter changes if I read this correctly. My experience is every third oil change with a 10,000 km interval or about once a year as mick said. It seems to be enough, if you drive where the fuel doesn't have as high a turnover, it might be smart to go every second oil change.
On the V6 TDIs I'm on the same page as Mick and SamTrooper. On the V10 TDIs I would do it every other oil change, 20,000km max. The V10s for some reason seem to be hard on fuel filters, and performance drops noticeably after a relatively short distance.
