I don't have the manual (hoping the dealer will find me one) however I have searched and from what I read the procedure is hold down buttons 1 and 3 until rapid blink, after about 20 seconds, then flip down the third visor and press the button to be programmed and the remote button while holding it near the flipped down visor. Problem is I don't have a 3rd visor however I have tried holding the remote pointing at the homelink buttons as well as pointing toward the windshield below the mirror and various directions and I don't get a confirmation that it learned the code.
Step one works, holding 1,3 for 20 secs the slow blinking switches to fast blinking at which point I let go. Then holding the button to be programmed and the remote button, the light flashes slowly above button two but it does not switch to rapid blinking and when I press the button it does not go on solid which is supposed to confirm it learned the code.
Can someone with a 2010 manual tell me if I'm doing anything wrong or I have to get security to press a button on the opener before I can attempt to learn the code. It's a TDI if it makes any difference.
I was hoping to get it programmed as I am renting a second spot in my condo and didn't want to leave a deposit for the remote if I could just program it and not need the remote in the first place. I'm meeting the guy 9:00am EST to get the remote. I'm going to try one more time before hand. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
