T-Reg what was the final answer to your problem? I also have the same issue with not seeing anything. I had to drive home 200 miles while holding the flash to pass so I could see anything. My lights really suck and I need to do something before I crash at night. My high beams seem to light up the tops of trees but the dealer say the lights are aimed correctly. Low beams light up reflective sufaces but thats all.
I came across your comment about high beams lighting up the tops of trees. I too can get the tops of trees as well as second and third floors of houses. But straight down the road is like a grey hole. Have you come up with a resolution? It would appear that there is some clouding that is occuring or just plain worn out bulbs. I have only had my Touareg for about a month and it is great (so far) but there are these little things that appear (like I did not test drive it at night) Saw the xeon light and assumed (yeah I know).

Tezza if you go up to a 6000K from the 4300K bulbs you should be fine since the bulbs would use the same wattage the color of the light id what would vary the most. As for the high beams and shutters. This issue with the high beams is that when the shutter goes down the light just seem to raise the high of the beam and not really improve beam range. This has a compound effect if you raise the aim off the low beam you also raise the high beam making it worse.
4Xmotion: Correct me if I am mistaken. When they talk about the temperature they are only talking about the color temperature and not the actual temp. Correct? It makes sense that if one raises the adjustment of the low beams the high beams will also be raised. But can the adjustment be done by the owner and if so where is the adjustment located?

Not withstanding the difference between a 4300K bulb and a 6000K bulb would there be differences between different brands? In other words does a particular bulb give a better beam of light?

Never having had a bi-xenon system before I have no way to guage if the light is old then its quality has degraded.

Just looking for all the information I can get before I lay out a couple of hundred to try and resolve.

There are a lot of issues in life to worry about. Call Geoff, get a set of HID (assuming one has HID) bulbs, drop them in, and walk away whistling your favorite tune. Something like "Don't worry, Be Happy".

At least that is what I did. They may not be a pretty color, but they do put out the most lumens.
