I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out. We just had the first snowfall here in WA, and I am concerned with the loud grinding noise my Treg makes when I loose traction. Its not the ABS brakes, but a real grinding from the drive trane. Sounds like when a tire slips the power to that wheel is diverted to a tire with grip, however it is extremely loud. Is this normal? Am I getting on the throttle to heavy for the conditions?
Please help.
Much appreciated. Aaron.

Yes, the ESP light is flashing when I hear the grinding. I have noticed however that if I am more gradual on the gas, I am able to accelerate without loosing traction. The grinding usually occurs when I am at slow speed ( less than 5 mph) and hit the gas enough to break loose the wheels. If this is normal, it sure is noisy.
Thanks for the replys.

NO, this is not my first car with ABS. This noise is significantly louder than just the ABS engaging...I think. I will play with it a little more on the ice to see what happens. From a standstill with all wheels on ICE, try punching the gas. I think you will see that the noise is mote than the normal.
Thanks,
Aaron.
