Both my keyfobs are wonky, always have been. While replacing the batteries and doing a key reset did help some, I think the problem is internal to the fobs. The unlock buttons are very unreliable. I can stand next to the car and keep pressing the unlock button, the green light blinks on the fob but the locks dont unlock unless I press the unlock button just_so. And that spot where I press it varies from time to time.
I recently rented a 2014 Jetta (nice car, btw) that had an identical remote key fob but it worked very well. It seemed to be a bit sturdier, too probl because its new.
Has anyone purchased a new OEM key fob and found it more reliable? I get really_Frustrated at times with the dang thing.
