"Popular" topic

Yes - the growing-shrinking icon indicates a "popular" topic. If you check the bottom of the forum screens you'll see a key to the icons. No indication of what defines "popular", however.

I must say, this is a very groovy forum/bulletin board package - phpBB: must bear that in mind. Wonder how much configuration it took to set up for this forum.

The key is different on the main index, the individual forum page and the thread page (well, there isn't one...). Which makes sense, but if you've noticed the animation and clicked before scrolling to the bottom of the page, confusion sets in. I had the same experience as you, 4x4s - I couldn't find the animated icon, then noticed it in the key days later...

Decent user interfaces are REALLY hard - this one does a solid job, no question.

Mike - was the configuration minimal? If so, it looks good out of the box. Maybe we need VW smilies? E-motor-cons? \/

Well done, then! I don't get the time I'd like playing "under the hood" anymore: it'd be nice to go back to the simple life of coding... but if I did, I wouldn't be able to afford my beautiful car. Ah, well.

I'm impressed with how well the system handles a variety of browsers - I'm used to the javascript failing when it comes to tagging up posts, but this works consistently well. Good choice.
