So I pulled a !DOH!-moment and took my switch-blade key swimming with me last night. I was in the water for a while before I noticed and subsequently freaked out.
When I got out and tried to shake/drain the key nothing really came out. I was thwarted by wet hands at trying to pop the unit open and check the battery compartment; so instead I walked over to the car and she fired right up using the push-button start.
Obviously the car still is able to sense the key, and the transmitter in the key works to lock/unlock the car.
These aren't perhaps water-resistant are they? If not - how to I get the blasted thing open so I can ensure corrosion does not completely hose me in the next day or so?
I knew I was going to do something like this since I no longer carry a group of keys.
