After reading the warranty on my new Touareg I am somewhat concerned with some of the lingo.

10/100,000 power train warranty:

I have never seen one be so limited. Chevy, Chrysler, Kia cover anything that is connected as part of the drivetrain. It appears only the internal engine, transmission, and driveshafts are covered. No sensors, turbo chargers....

2/24,000 emissions warranty:

This covers fuel systems, intake systems, exhaust system, ignition system.... Am I reading this right that these components are only covered for 2/24? Wouldn't this stuff be covered under the bumper to bumper 3/36 or does this make these parts exempt from it?

I only see VW mention turbo chargers, so where would a supercharger fall?

From what I understand the 3/36 is a bumper to bumper warranty which should cover everything except wear and tear items (brakes pads, tires, etc...)

BTW: do you own or have an access to a VCDS cable? If yes, can you post or PM me your scan. I'd like to see an LED tail light and boot lid coding. You do have a "boot lid" option correct?

Sorry for the delay. I have been in the mountains with little access to check forums. I have a ODBII code reader, is that the same as a VCDS cable? I am also not sure what a boot lid is, can you elaborate?

VCDS = Ross-Tech [so not the same as you can't "do" things with the reader]

I did know a boot is the trunk, assumed boot lid is the tailgate, but never heard of a boot lid option before. I didn't know getting a tailgate instead of a gapping whole in the rear of the car was an option, LOL.

Lol, boot lid options is when by wiggling your foot under the rear bumper opens the rear hatch. I guess you don't have it then

I thought it was only on the passat's at the moment. Didn't know it was available on the Treg's. Mine has the hitch so maybe thats why? I will go test it anyways.
