Hi Folks,

I'm going to be picking up a V8 Off Road Gray, Teak with PPS and Winter RSN, and I'm interested in others' opinions and experiences with the VW versus the In.Pro / Cobra (are they the same?) side step bars. I need something to help my 4.5 year old climb into the back, and I prefer to step on the side bars instead of the open door sill when loading bikes or boats on my racks; I'm retiring a '95 Pathfinder SE.

Thanks,

Cathy

I don't know anything about the side-steps, but air suspension at loading level will definitely ease loading onto the racks!

Welcome to CT and congrats on your upcoming Touareg!

I've only seen the VW and tried to use them at the dealership. They looked fine, but they are mounted so close to the body that I couldn't get my foot fully on the support. The salesman mentioned that many people weren't buying for that same reason. Make sure you try before you buy.

Good luck!
