What's the general opinion of the VW Care prepaid plans? I see that for my '16 TDI, the plan is $549, which covers scheduled maintenance all the way through 50k miles. Seems like a pretty reasonable deal.

Anybody have experiences with it? When does one have to purchase it by?

That seems quite cheep considering I just paid 400 for a service oil change tire rotation yadyad

Oil changes at my dealer are ~$180. So that seems like a good deal.

I hope I'm not looking at a price that can't be obtained. It's right on the VW website, but also says I need to purchase at my local dealer. Let me give them a call real quick to see what they say.

Make sure it is a VW plan that can be used at any VW dealer.

Dealer plans are only good whilst they remain in business . . .

Indeed, but some dealers try to sell punters their own service plans when they enquire about VW's plans, hence my post.
