Hello all:

On my follow up post "starter", I have been trying to contact VW Customer Service to help with my issues. In the 8-10 phone calls I have made over the last two months, and requested a call back, I have yet to get one.....

Has anyone out there had better luck with VW customer service? I would really appreciate some direction.

Write a letter to VWOA. Detail your problem as well as the dates that you attempted contact.

At the bottom, put

CC: Better Business Bureau - Your City
Better Business Bureau - City of Corp. VWOA
News Agency Consumer Group (IE: Channel 7 On Your Side... different depending on geographic location)
Dealership

Mail a copy of that letter to each of the CC's as well. The one to VWOA should be certified (or whatever it takes to get a signature on delivery). You can find the BBB info at www.bbb.org I believe.

I've had one experience with Customer Service and it was a good one.

Tips for talking to customer service:

1: Stay calm and concise about your problem

2: Express to the customer service person that you understand the problem is not their fault.

3: Be Nice

4: Ask that you have your concerns forwarded to the Regional Representative that oversees the area in which you live.

5: Pleasantly ask for someone to call you back, then ask if you can get a "they'll call you by then.... " date.

I know this sounds kind of kiss-assy but it worked for me in a big way.

Good Luck!

ps: If you live in the Rocky Mountain Region of the country - I know who you need to get in touch with and their phone number.

VW customer Service

On my first call to them (our special order T-regs took over 4 months to arrive because of shipping delays , they arrived in the US on time but sat in a parking lot for two weeks before they would ship them out, we were furious that they shipped non special order stock Audi's out before
the cars that WERE special ordered.

Bottom line, i found on the first call, that I had more knowledge then the CS people. And yes, they are awful about returning calls, nor can you speak to the same person every time, which i also found annoying.

BTW i did get a letter from them 2 months after we got our cars, ASKING ME IF WE GOT OUR CARS YET !!! AAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

VW Customer Care

It would seem that after all the problems posted here and elsewhere thaat one would finally get the message that VW Customer Care does not CARE about the customer.
This has been my experience as well as many who have made it known. I hate this because they really COULD have had a good thing but have chosen to ignore the customer, in my case .
They do not care is the message I get from them.
I finally got it! Get it?

If you want to read my entire customer "service" experience, look for the thread about the scratched door on delivery.

In short, they just took up several weeks of my time, did not call me back, gave me absolutely NO new information/suggestions/assistance, and in the end, I was referred back to the dealership to deal with them myself.

One A$$hole (and I mean that with a capital "A") I got actually just told me that it was my problem with the dealership, and there was nothing that they could do...I asked him what in the *&^% :censored: customer "service" was there for!

VW's customer "service" has been SOOOOO bad that you could not pay me to buy another VW.

Kris,

This I'd love to hear...I really don't doubt you in the slightest...and all I have is a scratch! I'm about that mad at them and believe that they are in collusion with one another.

Please do follow up.

I have received about the same "poor" customer service. This is my 3rd VW, and it appears that the service is getting worst. I am battling over my roof racks, that blew off. The dealer did not properly secure them and is trying to fault me! I only have 4800 miles on my T-Reg.

ok folks - I'll relate my story ... In short, I bought a lemon Touareg. Well close to it it is 75% towards the legal NJ definition of a Lemon. VW have fixed every issue so far. Not only that, but they have also extended the waranty from 4/50 to 7/100. I would have prefered to have a perfect vehicle, but can't complain on the way VW customer service and dealer treated me.
