Hi I have a 2012 touareg. i recently put a OEM wiring kit on and had the dealer run the VAG on it to tell the car that it was there. when i plug a trailer into it i get blinkers, running lights, but NO brake lights? here is a copy of the VAG report that he gave me. can someone tell me if there is something wrong on this side of things? i have plugged about 5 different trailers and the results are the same, NO brake lights. i am running a 7pin to 4 pin converter if that makes any difference.
thank you

I get left and right turn fine, i get running lights fine and hazard fine- no brake lights. at first i thought it was the 7 to 4 adapter but then i plugged into an RV today with the 7 pin and the same results

when i took it to the dealer to have #69 activated in the first place the guy said that he could turn it on but there was no place to modify any numbers, that is why i am just trying to find an expert close to me. sorry Niner for the double message

Yeah, i flipped through a good majority of my rainy Saturday trying to figure it out but my problem is that my dealer is a bit clueless so i was hoping to find a local VAG that can go in an fix me. i am pretty sure my fix will be going into the #69 and changing the 0100 to 020D000 from what i have read. sometimes getting a dealer on the same page isn't as easy as finding a local pro to lend you a hand!

Steve, what i don't understand is if the running lights work and the turn signals work (which are on the same wire and light as the brake) than how do the brake lights not? from all that i have been reading it sounds like a coding VAG problem. out of curiousity do you know a specific fuse that i should be looking at, or it's spot? on which side of the dash?
thank you everyone for lending you experience

took it to the dealer today with a print out of some VAG examples from the forum today and had him change the 0100000 to 020D0000 and everything is fixed. thank you PRO's for helping me out with this.

True, the guy was super cool and receptive to what i was saying. he actually told me to call him back to tell him if it worked so that he would know for future cars. I think the most annoying part was that the instructions with the unit didn't give him the correct info so it makes the dealer look bad. so shame on VW
