Just had my 04 Touareg Vagged. Did seat belt buzzer, nav screen disclaimer, and headlights. I noticed that I lost the DRL indicator in the speedo, however the DRL's are on. I tried going into the MFI and turning the drl's off and back on with no luck. Does anyone know if loss of the DRL indicator is caused by the Vag ? and is there a way to get it back ?

when you say headlights, do you just do the DRLs or did you also do the six headlight coding? If you did the six headlight mod, the DRL's don't function as normal, and instead turn on ALL of the outside lights, which is why the DRL indicator does not light.

Aircooled you brought up an interesting point, I have noticed that both rear and front lights are on in the DRL mode. I dont remember this before the Vagging. Could you expand on the 'six headlight mode'. I just followed the instructions posted here on forum. Your help and comments are appreciated.

six headlight coing is actually 4 headlights and two foglights. Under normal circumstances foglights shut off when you switch on high beams. With the coding change, the foglights stay on even when you use high beams, and when you turn on the high beams, the halogen inner lights come on as well as the xenons. Thus 6 lights.

Has this issue been resolved? Indeed: Vagging the DRL into MFI I can keep the DRL indicator if I do not also vag the 6 Lights. However, I prefer the 6 Lights, am OK with the loss of DRL indicator, but do not like both front, parking and rear lights now to be on always. I prefer just the front lights included in DRL just like it was before vagging. Any ideas?

This is no other option that has been found. I have asked several euro egg owners, and all report that this is the same way their system works. I think we are SOL on finding a way to keep the original DRL functionality, but I find the additional functionality of the brighter lights makes for an acceptable loss.

The lack of DRL indicator seems to be the usual result of the DRL to MFI vag. Even after I "activated" my rear fog, I could not get the indicator. It seems those little lights are a funny bunch.
12Johhny and I were VAGging his truck a while ago and noticed the same thing. In the end, he decided to change it back to stock to keep the DRL light indicator.

No matter how many times or how many different ways we tried, we couldn't get the DRLs in the MFI AND allow the halogens to come on with the high-beams.
