Hello,

This is my first post and I have been dealing with an issue of a broken camshaft tensioner. I finally had it replaced after waiting 3 weeks weeks and the hard engine shake went away but now there is just a slight vibration that wasn't there before. The CEL is flashing instead of staying on as it was before the replacement of the tensioner. I check the spark plugs last night and cylinders 5 and 6 had plugs that smelled like gas and covered in deposits. I replaced those plugs but the rough idle reduced slightly. At this point I am not sure what to do because I went from no issues to now a bad tensioner and two bad plugs. I figured I may be able to get a better idea about what else is happening if I ran a scan. I am also open to any suggestions.

Was the timing set correctly/CHECKED?

Also post for cable use in the VCDS area would be best.

My friend who did it for me said he had it set correctly (even though he initially did it wrong). I am questioning that a little now, lol. I will also add a post in the VCDS area as well. Thank you Xeno555!
