Preferably: the newer years (not that worried, more for cosmetic than anything else), dark grey ext., tow hitch, brown leather interior, eastern US location, of course low milage would be cool.
Must: cold weather pkg.

Following a search on ebay, a few have popped up but not at the right time. Now its time and theres only like one there. Nothing on local craigslist. Hope y'all can help!

Thanks very much!

Okay so being a newbie still, looks like I want an older one.. maybe lol...

In the couple of hours of research between working it seems like the older (04,05?) has more features that I like.

Also would really like both locking diffs if possible.

Thanks again!

thank you! checked them out and seem really nice. I saw two grey/brown ones in the area. bit different prices but one has the rear diff lock which I like.

Hey bobmusick, I just wanted to put a plug in for the one I am selling. It's a different color than you were looking for but is in great condition and has a lot of goodies (power and reliability improvements). Also, 2006 is the last year before they put the AD-Blue systems on them. This one requires no maintenance for the exhaust system. :) I am looking to get 14k for it but may do 13k for a forum member Here is a link to my classified ad.

Alright so half bump, half update. After spending some more time doing research and talking with the future owner (my mom lol) she said that her ideal set up (with some features wanted by me) would be:

-White exterior (then grey, then black as back ups)
-Brown leather inside (but I feel like that would be easier to change than paint color)
-both locking diffs
-heated steering wheel
-trailer hitch
-year doesn’t matter much
-trying to stay at:under $15k but have some flex

Saw a couple of nice grey ones on the west coast which might be an option since she travels a lot for her job and could probably pick it up or make a business trip out of it. But we’re in the Buffalo, NY area, and she just made the move to ski country and said her ford escape with snow tires couldn’t even get up the driveway lol

Thanks so much. Really appreciate all the help y’all have done already.

Have you AND your Mom read the buying used Touareg thread to get fully up to speed on what to check and what to expect?

All Touaregs can be expensive to fix with bills that can readily end with ,000.00 but the V10 has a supercar engine that can be very expensive to fix and the older Touaregs get then the more likely they are to go wrong too.

If your Mom is on a budget, buy something else.

I haven’t been able to find a guide/faq type thing and the search feature hasn’t been working well. So thank you very much for that. I’ll be sure to read it and show her.

She knows it’s not a Honda as far as repairs and reliably. Definitely going to end up getting one of those extended warranties for the big stuff and I’ll probably be doing most of the other work. Plus my aunt (who my mom just moved next to) has like a legit garage with a lift etc. and plenty of know how. Aaaand I’ve been living with an allroad for the past few years, so very annoying and expensive repairs are something this family is used to lol... even tonight was an allroad episode but it keeps life exciting or at least not boring

I really do appreciate this though, thanks again!! I’ll read it first chance I get to tomorrow
