Hi everyone
I was wondering if we should unhook our van each night as we travel North to spare/relieve the airbags in our Touareg. Thinking we probably should, but wondering what others think. Our last tow vehicle was a Pajero and this is our first trip away with the Touareg.
Would love some answers on what others do or don't do.
Thanks.

The only time I disconnect is when parking at a Caravan Park.. Leave it attached. You are only creating unnecessary work for your self.

I have wondered that myself and most times do not have unhook but drop jockey wheel and just wind down to take pressure but not lift up
Any better views would be appreciated

I don't attach the jockey wheel unless I am unhooking it.

One time I did as you stated and unknown to me the Air Suspension had a leaking o ring in the rear right. As a result the jockey wheel ended up bearing the combined weight of car and van.

The jockey wheel never worked properly again and ultimately I replaced it.

I do place the stabiliser legs down.

I also put the Trail-a-mate jack onto the jockey wheel hitch on the A-frame, and use that to give us a fore-aft levelling. Sometimes it may lift the rear of the Touareg up, but for one night....I'm happy.

For multiple nights, or long term storage (un-hitched), I have car support stands to place under the A frame.
