Surprisingly for us Bruce my wife and I have never been up to that area despite me living in the area so a day trip is possible.
We will leave home early so 11am is easily possible.
Would be more than happy to do some Gloucester tops cruise 🛳 for a while and have some lunch etc before heading home 🏡 that afternoon.
A moderate 4wd track would be icing o the cake 🎂

Cheers

Thought the link would look better than the previous post did.

See link.
Weather.

Shades of a previous muster near a lake, forgot which one but it rained most of the muster.
Bring wellies, unbrella, book, hot drinks and a smile.

I think it will be ok regards crossing. The best people to ask are National Parks regards the crossings so I will closer to the time.
Thank you Stuart..was going to look at weather soon but better to be forewarned.

Yep weather not lookiing wonderful. Good thing is rain whilst predicted over the 3 days or so it is pretty minimal. Total of 18 mm Friday, and something like 3 to 4 mm on the other days. It will be on the cool side as well.
I still reckon its a go as long as we prepare. I do not think the fords will be an issue as the place is built for rain.
Will check in with National Parks if I can raise them and report back re fords…but really wouldnt worry..

Was thinking bring along two way radios if you have them if we feel like the trip down the Myall to the coast on Sunday. A lot or areas on the trips has phone coverage..some not.

Your up early Bruce.
See you there. I will try and find a spot with some access to the sky, hope my 120 Ah battery will last. I will see if I can find a spare car battery to use and try to work out how to get 8mm screw terminals to fit lead pus on ones.🤞
I guess I go home when it dies. :(

Just checked with mid coast council re Gloucester Tops Rd fords. They say with small amount of rain it is not an issue. Told me to check with Traffic Live in the day if any increasein rain expected. So far 16.8 mm total expected on Friday, 7.9 mm Saturday and 2.3 mm Sunday. Only small amounts..though looks like it will be overcast.

Just checked with National Parks..there are gas BBQs, some wood fireplaces and two fire rings..

Ok last harnague. I will be there round 2.00 pm Friday. Black 2012 Treg.. Rain not too bad over weekend cept some Tomorrow

Not worth much in hilly country but will be listening to Channel 33 on UHF.
Anybody coming on Trip to Myall Lakes Sunday should think about loading Offline Maps , Google, of local area and the lakes area. Not wonderful tool but it all helps. Probably wont drive on beach myself as it needs me to bring an aircompressor to get back on the tar and nobody has expressed interest . Tides high however at about 1.00pm..so will give it a miss. Good patrolled beach at Hawks Nest for a swim. Also decent pub.
See you then at Gloucester River Camping ground IN the National Park ( not caravan park).
