long time lurker that will eventually purchase a v8 R line to tow my caravan. the new caravan arrives at February2023 so i still have time and be able to save some more.
one of my biggest conundrums that i constantly dwell on is do i purchase with the tow bar already on?
whilst this obviously will save time and money i have nightmares reading posts on here about the complexity of doing this right. so many stories about tow bars fitted without vw tow module, cant find the wires or they just don't have the wire up the front for the red arc controller it seems you just don't know what you get here! then you hear about take it to the dealership and the it comes back worse, just so hard to know what to do. then i obviously think, buy one that has never towed anything would be much better but gee are you ever going to hurt a v8 diesel with this much power, the old adage i remember "if you are going to get an outboard motor then get a bloody big one and it will do it easy"
would love some direction and help with this decision as totally confused here.
