Hi everyone,

This question may be one you have seen many times (or maybe not).

I am going to buy a 2005 Touareg V6 240 HP, automatic gearbox, at 250'000 Km.

I hear some worry peoples who say that it is the foolish thing to do because of the weakness of the auto gear box and that there is absolutely no way to know before hand when it will collapse.

Myself I always liked the Touareg and I can remember clearly the first time I saw it (at that time a V10) just after it came up on the market.

I am glad to think I will get one (for a very affordable amount of money - I had a tight budget anyway) but I am wondering where the truth is ?

Is the gearbox that bad or is it some terrible things happening in exceptional cases but nor the norm...?

Thank you all for your answers.
