VW lover for over twenty years.......after getting tired of bleeding knuckles on two Sciroccos & a GTI in the early 70's i went Japanese. Still missing the proper road feedback have been waiting patiently for the Touareg to work out its "kinks" i.e. electrical issues, bearings, CV joints, etc.....

i think my aprehension is over but i welcome ALL feedback w/the "2"...thinking "Lux w/conventional V-6".

is it heaven? or still a disguise?

I made the plunge just over a month ago. I looked for a used vehicle, low miles that has a service history you can confirm. Then purchase as much extended warranty as you can, this will limit your financial exposure if you start experiencing to many problems. Make sure that the extended warranty is transferable.

Mine is a 2008 and it only had 22100 miles. Looking at the service history, it only had basic maintenances done, verified by Carfax. Buying from a VW dealer it has CPO. The other plus about buying a used vehicle from a dealership, is that it must have all the original panels. Dealers are flooded with lease returns, take your time and get what you want.

I had the same apprehension. I bought a 2012 TDI Lux on Saturday. No looking back. When I get 9,900 miles on it, I'll buy the 100,000/10Yr Platinum warranty (virtually bumper to bumper) from VW for 2k.

This car is so nice, that it really shouldn't be driven.
