Hi. I have a 2005 V8 with 145k miles on it and I have been experiencing a lot of issues with it lately, which might be connected to each other.
It is started with check engine light, showing misfire in cylinder 5 and random misfire (don't remember the exact codes but I can take a look later), A/C stooped working and battery was dead.
Replaced the battery, went to change the A/C compressor (turned out it was bad) and the car stopped in the middle of the street. Tried to start it back again - it started with no problems. It did that 3-4 times on the way to A/C place. It almost cut out on the highway as well, but after I pushed the gas pedal as many times as I could the car went back to normal. Once I got off the highway - it cut out again couple of times. At the A/c repair they have changed the compressor and cabin filter - A/C started working great again. While they was fixing it, I was researching why the car was cutting out. Turned out it might be the bad fuel pump. So next day, I was going to pick up the car, try to deliver it back home and order the new pump, however, there were no issues with it on the way back home. On top of that, there were no issues with it for another week of regular driving, so I almost forgot about this problem.
In the meantime, I ordered and replaced PCV Valve on the car - which supposedly was the solution to my misfire problem. The light was still on and the car was still shaking at the idle (it doesn't matter if it was just idling or stopped at the light with transmission put on "D"). So one day (about a week from the A/C service), I was driving in my parking lot and Treg cut out again. My thinking - fuel pump problem came back. Well, been there, started the car back again and boom, check engine light disappears. Went on a 20 mile trip, the car died once, but later on - no isuues whatsoever.
By saying no issues I meant no issues with cutting out :)) Went to the highway and after I reached 55 mph, ESP enables and doesn't let me to pick up any more speed. It literally goes up to 55 mph and then kicks in and slowing the vehicle down.
here is the link to the video when it does it:

Guess what? None of the problems existed on my way back home. No fuel pump cutting out, no ESP enabling...
In the meantime, I also have a airbag light pops on from time to time. Usually it happens when I just start the car, it stays on for about 10-15 min of driving and then turns off by itself. When it just started to do that - it stayed on for 10-15 sec but now the timing went up.
Also, key detection system (KESSY) works from time to time. Couple of days ago I tried to open the doors with the keys in my pocket and it didn't work. Next time I tried to do that, it worked. Then, it didn't work again next day, and it worked once again after that...

What is going on with the car?? Anyone have any ideas? Are all of those problems somehow could be related to ECU being bad? Or all of those just s separate issues requiring fixing of every single element (Fuel pump, kessy module, ESP system etc.)

On top of that I have a problem with transmission (or something else) - when you slow down on the vehicle and trying to speed up again - you feel a kick. Doesn't matter which gear you are on. Even if you are on the first gear going over a small bump and you keep the pedal on the gas - you will get a kick about 3-4 seconds after you went over the bump... Freaks me out, I have never experienced so many issues with any other car.

Pull the carpet on the drivers side and look at the wire harness. Could be bad connections which definitely are not uncommon in the older Tregs.

Yes, I do. All of the tires are the same. I tried to read a codes, just had a time to get engine and transmission system. Transmission is clean, no codes stored, engine - same 2 codes, misfire in cylinder 5 and random misfire. Changed PCV Valve (OEM installed), changes all of the spark plugs (NGK Iridium), moved all of the coils from one side to another, will see if the codes will be the same.
But for now, I have rough idling, flashing check engine light while idling only, steady while driving. Obvious loss of power and misfire.
Tomorrow - doing full diagnostics, will see if there are something new.
And I cannot disable ESP anytime, tried pushing the button, holding it, checked the connection.

Also happen with insufficient batteries.
What exactly is insufficient battery? The one I had before - couldn't even start the car. The one I have now - no problem, car starts right up. While running, I think it's all about alternator, the battery doesn't really take a part in supplying the power for electrical system. Or am I wrong?

Most of the time you will have start issues also, or weird dancing lights after start.

Did you reset ECU and or clear errors after new battery?
Battery buffers any surges and smooths out the 12v. Bad alt could cause issues.

:surprise:

Also the TI Touaregs have electrical issues anyhow.

VCDS? I've gone as far as I can go GUESSING.

This is what I got!. I saw a vacuum line completely disconnected, will fix that, will change the coils and see if it will make any difference with misfire.
System is too lean - can it be because of the vacuum leak also?

A/c codes - don't know nothing here.
I had A/C serviced, it works fine. Fresh air blower fault - does it mean it is not working? The air is blowing cold, not too much of it from the sides.
Air Quality Sensor - has anyone replaced that one and had no problem afterwards?

00907 - Intervention load Management - no idea what is it.

Kessy faults - are they all connected?

2 faults for airbag - I read somewhere it could be something wrong with the cables under the seat. Anyone have any information on which cables it is?

Koren, P0101 mass air flow sensor ( G70): implausible signal. Symptoms, loss of power and erratic idle. Possible causes, mass airflow ( G70) faulty, air leaks after MAF, excessive restrictions in the intake/exhaust system( dirty air filter(s), clogged snow screen, clogged CAT, ground spots corroded, wiring and/or connections from to MAF sensor faulty.
Possible solutions, check air intake filter(s), check MAF sensor(s), check ground spots, check wiring and connections to MAF sensor
