anyone know if the Touareg hybrid can be used as a generator when hitched and parked to a tow trailer?

would be neat if the Touareg could start up and power a travel trailer as needed when there is a demand for power. Just like a portable generator.

would the electrical connections be complicated?

any thoughts?

Probably close to impossible. But you could use the 110v outlet located behind the center console. You'd have to keep the ignition on and the driver seatbelt buckled in to prevent the gas engine from running all the time. When the battery depletes it'll start up the gas engine to recharge it.

The gas engine does turn off after a set amount of time when the seatbelt is off or you are not in the car. I know I've walked up to the car and the engine was off, but then it turned back on when I opened the door.
