Hi all,
My name is José and I'm from Portugal.

I have a 2015 Touareg V6 TDi and want to make some retrofits: trafic sign recognition, lane assist and side assist.

My car doesn't have the front camera (in the windshield) or image processor unit, ACC. But it have 360 camera, RNS850 with navigation and MMI3G, eletric and heated outside mirrors...

So far, I have the following parts:
  • new windshield with bracket to camera
  • camera: 7P6 907 217B
  • Image processing unit: 7P6 907 107B and bracket
  • Pitch rate sensor: 7P6 907 658
  • Steering motor vibrator: 7P6 959 11A
  • Steering lever (with buton to activate lane assist): 7P6 953 502B
  • Cables from Kufatec to connect everything (except the pitch rate sensor)
  • I don't know yet if I need to replace the CAN Gateway...

Connecting the cables are not dificult but wiring the pitch rate sensor (G752) is a challenge...

I have to main doubts:
1st: Is it necessary to connect the pitch rate sensor? In the ELSA wiring schemes it appears in the section of ACC but I won't retrofit ACC.
2nd: As you can see in the pictures attached, I already connect ground and +12v. Where is the B506 location to connect there T6ag/3. To connect T6ag/4 I could connect to B507 point. Where is this point? Or can I connect to the wire or/br that goes from J533 to R242? Where I can locate the main wiring harness and interior wiring harness?

Hi, I'm Jorge from Spain, I'm doing the same retrofits on my car.
Have you already finished it?
Regarding your doubts:

1st: Is it necessary to connect the pitch rate sensor? In the ELSA wiring schemes it appears in the section of ACC but I won't retrofit ACC.
I'm not sure, but for the price it costs, and the connection is simple, it's worth putting it up.

2nd: As you can see in the pictures attached, I already connect ground and + 12v. Where is the B506 location to connect there T6ag / 3. To connect T6ag / 4 I could connect to B507 point. Can cables can be connected at any point in either J533 or R242.

Right now I am preparing the wiring and checking the installation, I have also bought the Kufatec cable ref 40559 (Cable set Traffic sign recognition for VW Touareg 7P) according to the manual you have to count it to pins 10/26 if you do not have ACC or 7 / 26 if you have ACC, according to the diagram I think you have to connect to pins 7/26. What pins have you connected them to?

The Steering vibrator motor: 7P6 959 11A where did you buy it?

Yes. Probably you will need to change the Can Gateway. I needed to buy one and bought it at Kufatec.

Yes, you need to install this sensor.

Near the pitch rate sensor you have an earth point. Connect there. For the+12v I had found a wire in the main wiring and connect it there (near the pitch rate sensor, also). For the two additional wires needed I extended them to the steering wheel area and windscreen camera and made the connections according to the manual.

I bought a second hand steering wheel that already had a vibrating motor, heating and paddles to change gear. I ended to retrofit also the heating and paddle shifters

Hello,
Everything ready to mount, but I will need to change the can gateway.
When you buy the kafutek can gateway, does it come with assembly and programming instructions?

I have some doubts.
Did you have to calibrate the camera with odis?
Have you activated the automatic high beams?
What encodings did you have to do?

It doesn't have any instructions but it's simple: just swap one for the other and connect the plugs. But be careful, the car will go into safe mode. In my case, I went to the dealer and they unlocked the new gateway and adjust everything properly. They do not configure the other ECUs, they only unlock the gateway and transfer the settings from the old to the new one. Although the car goes into safe mode, it can work and walk normally.

I have some doubts.
Did you have to calibrate the camera with odis?
No and yes... The camera is in second hand and it already had been calibrated. The VCDS didn't report any error about missing calibration. But, since I had to replace the windscreen, the car shop also made a properly calibration. But I didn't touch on Odis...

Have you activated the automatic high beams?
In my case it's not possible because I need new headlights with propoer power and control units. I tried but there were a lot of errors...

What encodings did you have to do?
With the cables from Kufatec, you got some instructions. But, most important, I had a fantastic guid made for Audi A6 that fits nicely in this situation (see attachment).

Hi,
The orange/blue wire will connect on CanBus gateway/control module? In wich plug/position? This will enable auto high beams, after some VCDS tweaks?

Hi the or/bl twisted with or/br is the e can bus you need for pitch sensor, headlight range cu is not for high beam on anf off is for low beam range depending if you have loaded your trunk or not for not dazzing other car in opposed way

I know that and it's what I did. I thought this connection is for automatic high beam. Thanks anyway.

Hi, Carvalhito, I have everything set up and the lane assist working, but I can't get the sign assist to work. I think I have a problem in some long coding, when doing a scan I get the same error in Dasboar (17), Multimedia (5F), Image processing (8E), U111100 Function Limitation due to Missing Message.
Besides, I get the U112100 error in Brakes (03), the latter makes me suspect that I have activated some function of the front assist in some module and it should not be activated.
Can you tell me your long coding?

Hi Jorge,

Here are my long codings...

@Jorgezgza did you install the sensor 7P6907658? It shows on the scan, module 85. The missing of this sensor could be the reason to the error U111100 Function Limitation due to Missing Message.
This sensor it's placed below right rear seat.

Thanks!! I have been able to remove the fault that I had in 5F.
I think the problem is in the image processor, the long coding it has is only 3 byte (0A 80 BC 04), yours has 5 byte.
The reference of my processor is 7P6907107 yours will be 7P6907107B or A.
I'm going to see if I can do something with odis, and if not I'll look for another image processor.

The 7P6907658 sensor if I have it mounted.

Finally I had to change the image processor for ref 7P6907107B, and it works correctly.
Now, the problem I have is that in the assistants, it does not let me activate the fatigue detector, the option appears in gray. I already saw this before changing the image processor, and I don't know if it happened to me when changing the gateway or when activating the signals in the box.
